One year after the war in Iraq, people in Brussels were in the streets to show they are not forgotten it.

On Saturday, the streets of Brussels were full of people to remember that one year before, USA and its European allies started the war in Iraq.
Manifestation started from Gare du Nord, where people were preparing the banners, the music and all symbols which represent the peace and the freedom around the world.

Phrases more repeated by all persons were: “No war, no occupation”, “Stop the wall in Palestine” and “Chènge the world”.
Between the big amount of people, in spite of the rainy and cold day in Brussels, flags for the peace: the Italian multicolour flag with “PACE”, Palestinian flags and communist too.

All pacifist ideas and political thoughts were presented there. It was a day to be all together against the war and the occupation around the world, no matter ideas or countries.

Roberto, from the Communist Italian Party in Brussels, for 28 years in Belgium, explained: “We are here for the peace. We were in the manifestation in February last year too, and we are asking for peace only.
Governments should retire the troops from Iraq now. It hasn’t sense that the same troops were there to make the war, now they are there for peace.
They can’t work with UN now in Iraq”.

Demonstrators shouted against Bush and its allies positions, specially for the Palestinian rights and the people in Iraq.
“They only go where fuel is”, said a young girl with PACE flag.

“We are here because the imperialism, last year, was the responsible of the occupation in Iraq. And we know that it will continue.
All the world is dominated by the USA power and there are many countries which are supporting it.
They are lying and they will lie again. And we have to stop it”, explained a man from Nepal, in Mouvement de Rèsistance des Peuples du Monde.

Manifestation continued in Boulevard Anspach, the main street of the city, where more and more people were united step by step.
In Bourse, a wall that imitated the Palestinian one was destroyed by demonstrators in a symbol of peace.
It was one of the most applauded moments of the manifestation.

From some Latin American associations explained: “We are against the occupation of USA in Iraq and against the occupation in Latin America too, because we feel the same pressure of USA.
They invented the war because of the fuel. All countries with fuel are being invaded by them.
Attack last week in Madrid is the answer of the violence: the violence of the State has made this kind of violence.
Violence only generates violence”.
