Spanish journalist died in Haiti

The Spanish journalist, Ricardo Ortega, died during a manifestation in Haiti.

He was shot by the Aristide’s demostrators who killed 6 persons more and 26 were hurt, 2 of them, photographs.
Ortega, who was in Haiti since 28 February, died an hour later after being in the hospital Canapé Vert, in the capital of the country.

With him, it is the ninth death of Spanish journalist since 1980 in the world, after the last 3 journalists killed in Irak.

“Reporters without bordiers” talks in its last Dossier that year 2003 has been a “Black Year”, in which 42 journalists have died in the world during the last 12 months.
The explain that more than 766 have been jailed, 1.460 attacked or threatened and mora than 500 media, censured.
