Het wapen kan een geluid voorbrengen van 150 decibel. En het kan zich richten over een straal van een kleine 300 meter, het Noord-Amerikaans leger zegt dat het niet aan te raden is om zich in de eerste 100 meters te bevinden.

Hoorspecialisten zeggen dat de frequentie die gebruikt wordt, ts de 2100 en 3000 Hertz, heel schadelijke gevolgen kan hebben wanneer men er te lang wordt aan blootgesteld.
