Manifestations for the Iraq’s War in Spain: one year later

One year later people don't forget why and how some countries invaded Iraq.

The main Spanish cities have been again scene for manifestations for Iraq.

It happened yesterday, exactly one year later from the massive demonstrations around the country.

Specially in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, where have been the biggest protests.

Social Forum in Madrid, with more than thirty social, political organizations and sindicates, remember the “ campaign of lies and false ideas” in which Iraq war was based from USA and its friends in Europe.

In Madrid, the demonstration started at 12 from Moncloa to Plaza de Espana with the banner: “One year later...Madrid against the war”.

Demostrators (9.000 by the Government, 150.000 by the organizations) asked for the freedom of Iraq of foreign troops and remember Jose Couso, the Spanish journalist killed by the Americans during the war.

In Valencia, the main idea was that “they have not found massive destructions arms and relations between Al Qaeda and Iraq”.

The manifestation started at 12 at Plaza de Sant Agustin with 4.000 persons by the police, but with 20.000 persons by the organizations.

In Barcelona, the manifestation was at Plaza de Cataluna, that wasn’t enough big for all the demostrators.

Organization “Aturem la Guerra” started the act, that continued with the music of “Primavera per la pau”, shouts against Jose Maria Aznar and his party, PP.
All political parties were in this act except PP.

Other manifestations happened in Zaragoza (Plaza de Espana) and Valladolid (Plaza de Colon).

On 20 March will be the next manifestation because of the first year from the war, in Spain and in the main cities around the world.
