by International Platform against Isolation Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 at 4:32 PM
isolation@post.com

During the International Days of Struggle against Isolation from 19-22 December, several activities and protests took place all over Europe.

The main activity was an International Symposium in Florence from 19-21 December 2003, joined by around 120 intellectual and delegates of institutions and organisations from different countries like Italy, Turkey, Euskal Herria (Basque Country), Ireland, Germany, Lebanon, Palestine, West Sahara, Syria, Austria, Iran, Morocco, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain and Greece.

As a part of these activities the International Platform against Isolation also organised an international solidarity hungerstrike from 19-22 December 2003 and it has asked several political prisoners in different countries to participate in this hungerstrike.

Here are important solidarity messages of political prisoners, who supported the international days of struggle against isolation and the international hunger strike. There are a lot of other prisoners who were asked to join, but we couldn’t receive their message in time.

Among those who supported the hungerstrike, there are also Mumia Abu Jamal and Ramon Labanino Salazar from the “Cuban Five”.

Our activities will continue and we’re happy to send you soon the results and detailed informations on our successful international activities...

RAMON LABANINO SALAZAR, POLITICAL PRISONER OF THE 'CUBAN 5,' SENDS SOLIDARITY GREETINGS TO THE INTERNATIONAL PLATFORM AGAINST ISOLATION

Beaumont, Texas, December 10th, 2003.

Dear Friends:

It's an honor for me to join the International Campaign for Political Prisoners of December 19-22, and express my solidarity with the "International Platform Against Isolation."

Here, I send you my poem "FREE YOUR MIND", as a modest way to express my solidarity and support with my comrades, all political prisoners from all over the world.

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!

!VENCEREMOS!

Ramon Labanino Salazar
(Cuban Five political prisoner, Texas, USA).

"FREE YOUR MIND"

FREE YOUR MIND
when you feel alone
when you get down
'cause life just belongs
to those who settle down.

FREE YOUR MIND
when things have gone wrong
when they put you behind bars
'cause: here, there you are useful
no matter where you are.

FREE YOUR MIND
because you are the weapon
all you need is your hands
just keep Victory in your soul
and Freedom in your heart.

FREE YOUR MIND
HUMANITY NEEDS YOU ALIVE!
NOW IS THE TIME
AND THIS IS THE PLACE
WE NEED YOU TO SURVIVE!

FREE YOUR MIND, BROTHER!
FREE YOUR MIND AND FIGHT!

"to those who never give up!"

"a man who don't fight is a dead man"

Matthew “Rampage” Lamont: Statement of Solidarity with the International Platform Against Isolation Symposium

My name is Matthew “Rampage” Lamont. I’m in Centinella State Prison in California [USA] for an alleged attempt to attack a neo-Nazi/fascist gathering with an incendiary device.

I give my full solidarity to those comrades who continue to struggle in the darkest places and in the darkest of times. We are of many nationalities, but we share one thing in common – we nderstand the need for sacrifice. Keep strong my brothers & sisters in the prisons.

I also give my full solidarity to those participating in the symposium. You are our lifeline. Your support keeps us strong and your dedication let’s us know that we are not forgotten. We pass our torch to you, the torch of sacrifice, so that our struggle will continue.

John Two Names [Andy Riendeau]: Statement of Solidarity with the International Platform Against Isolation Symposium

Osiyo, I pray that all receive this greeting with clenched fists, and the spirit of resistance coursing through your veins. I wish, now, to confirm my position with the political prisoners of the world during this symposium of solidarity.
We are many, we cross cultural, national, ethnic and language barriers.
When we act, we step into the roles of warriors, freedom fighters and protectors of Mother Earth, the people and our way of life.

It is truly amazing to be a part of this struggle – a struggle against a system that destroys everything in its past; be it the 500+ year campaign against my people, the First People of the Great Turtle Island, or the Death Squad Fascists in Turkey.
Where we strike at one, we hit them all.

For those whom fight against imperialism, colonization, racism, sexism; those whom fight against the corporate elite that tirelessly rape the Earth I stand in solidarity.

I am with my Native brothers & sisters fighting for our way of life, I am with those in the forests defending the wild; I am there in the ghettos, in the trenches, in the streets.

When the child in Palestine hurls a stone at his colonizer, when the Iraqi woman spits in the face of the US war monger, when there is a battle in the streets, and the voice of resistance is lifted, my spirit is there, as is my heart.

So, too, am I with those in the Turkish Death Camps. In solidarity and in spirit I stand with humility, honor, and respect with the Turkish Political Prisoners and with freedom fighters the orld over.

Your brother in struggle,

Anarchist prisoner Harold Thompson will hunger strike in Solidarity with the International Platform Against Isolation Symposium

Please notify the International Platform Against Isolation that I will participate in their solidarity hunger strike to coincide with their Second Annual Symposium against state repression the weekend of 19-22 December. It is important for those of us on the inside of the gulags as well as those free to support the Turkish prisoner’s struggle against the monsters of the earth who attempt to break their minds, crush their spirits, and strip them of their dignity as human beings. The past martyrs of thedeath fast in Turkey in 1984 deserve to be honored by the international hunger strike and those political prisoners in the cesspool dungeons of France, Spain, Turkey, Ireland, Chile, Israel, Iraq, Columbia, Palestine, Nepal, and the United States, plus many other nations, need support, recognition and solidarity. We are all in one struggle but just on different plateaus of the battlefield.

Sincerely,

Harold Thompson

Ana Lucia Gelabert: I express my utter contempt for both the savage and neo-fascist Turkish state and their USA masters!

Dear Comrades of the International Platform Against Isolation,

Thank you for your notice on the December 19-22 hungerstrike.

While I express my full solidarity with the strikers, and with other comrades sponsoring the strike, at this time, due to my age [over 65] and corresponding health, I am unable to participate: it would be wreckless and irresponsible on my part to do so, I'd rather preserve what strength I still have, to continue the struggle from behind these bars.

As to the savage and neo-fascist Turkish state, and their USA masters, I express my utter contempt for both.

In solidarity,

Ana Lucia Gelabert #384484

Fight Contend: To struggle against: OPPOSE

Dispatch 112: STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE INTERNATIONAL PLATFORM AGAINST ISOLATION: HUNGER STRIKE OF 19-22 DECEMBER 2003.

Comrades, Volunteers,

We Volunteers of America, loosely associated, in worldwide revolutionary spirit, recognize and support the characterization and existence of FREE PRISONERS.

In solidarity we join in the International hunger strike. Resistance is, and must be, international in nature. The era of militarized resistance fighters is upon us
worldwide. Freedom fighters in our times know no ideological boundaries in the current military phase.

The 51st Volunteers dedicates this FREE PRISONERS solidarity statement to the memory of the liberation of Curcio:

“On February 18 [1975] an armed unit of the Red Brigades attacked and occupied the Casale Monferrato prison liberating Comrade Renato Curcio.

This action is part of the war of resistance to the growing counter-revolutionary forces which today are carrying out a ‘white coup,’ following the instructions of the imperialist super-bosses Ford and Kissinger.

These forces, using the smoke screen of ‘democratic’ anti-fascism, are trying to make people believe that the big danger is the revival of traditional fascism […] The task of the revolutionary is to fight white putschism in all its manifestations […]
The liberation of political prisoners is part of this program […]
Red Brigades”

Solidarity Remains Forever the Conscience of the People.

The Revolutionary Free Prisoners Are Our Honor.

History Is Written By The Winner.

The Persistence of Memory Is The Weapon of Winners.

Never Forget.
