Some month ago, the Dega minority people went on the front of the media because of a claim for a Dega State in the Vietnamese Highlands. Who were the persons in charge of destabilise this part of the country ? "Key figures" of so-called Dega State admit to being misled

The "key figures" of the so-called "Dega State," including the three younger brothers of Ksor Kok, who proclaims himself President of that "State," have given themselves up.

Recognising the reactionary nature of the unlawful organisation that acts under the name of the so-called "Dega Protestant Church," they have committed themselves to leaving the "Dega Protestant Church" and dedicating their effort to building a happy life.

They called on people to stay away from the illusion about a happy life by illegally crossing the border to Cambodia.

Their material and spiritual lives have now become better with modern amenities such as motorbikes and television sets.

Ksor Krok, who is now living in Ama Ron commune together with his mother and two brothers, said, "I was manipulated by reactionary people overseas into converting to the Dega Protestant Church. They promised to grant me promotion and wealth so that I could feed my family for hundreds of years."

He said their lies misled him to an agitation drawing locals against the local administration and undermining the national unity. He admitted that he had erred in committing those activities that damaged the peaceful and happy life of his fellow villagers.

"So far mass organisations and borderguards have helped open my eyes to see clearly the nature of my brother and the 'Dega Protestant Church.' They are a reactionary force sabotaging the State and the people under the cloak of
religion," he said.

Another brother of Ksor Kok called Ksor Rni, who returned from Cambodia after illegally crossing the border into the neighbouring country, acknowledged that he had committed a crime against his people. He said that he now renounced the engagement in the "Dega Protestant Church" and that any
one who had made the same mistake should follow him to reintegrate into the local community to boost production and improve the living conditions.

Ksor Kok's mother, old Ksor Hble, said "My children were misled to wrong-doings due to agitation by a group of reactionaries, doing harm to the people and the homeland. I beg your pardon and hope that you all, villagers, should be alert against the "Dega Protestant Church." (Vietnam News Agency)
