En als ik héél eerlijk ben: afgeven op Schwarzenegger is makkelijk, maar van hem kan je tenminste nog zeggen dat we op voorhand wisten uit welke hoek hij kwam en nu de consequenties er uit trekt. Héél wat anders dan die BV's (Bekakte Vlamingen) die voor hun snoetje of groot bakkes op de lijst komen en na verloop van tijd ofwel geen ideeën blijken te hebben ofwel snappen dat ze er niet in thuis horen.

Mochten een boel mensen die hun neus voor de politiek ophalen maar er constant op zitten te schieten die verantwoordelijkheid opnemen en de kiezer serieux zouden nemen, zou daar niet een niet onbelangrijk deel van de oplossing van de huidige problemen zitten?

Ik ga Schwarzenegger nu ook niet verdedigen, maar hij is wel geboren na de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Dat zijn vader een nazi was is zijn verantwoordelijkheid niet. Ik denk dat in veel families die in Vlaanderen leefden ten tijde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog er altijd wel iemand te vinden is die toen 'dienst' deed bij één of ander onderdeel. En als dat de vader is, is dat natuurlijk dikke pech voor de kinderen.

En wat Waldheim betreft: hij had misschien beter moeten weten, maar er staat dat zijn verleden op dat moment naar boven kwam. Wie weet in welke omstandigheden Schwarzenegger Waldheim leren kennen heeft. Misschien was Waldheim wel een stuk heimwee naar Oostenrijk of gewoon een oude toffe pee. Op een trouwfeest wordt toch niet bijster veel over politiek gesproken. Ik weet nu wel niet of Schwarzenegger zich ooit gedistancieerd heeft van Waldheim.

Nu goed, let een beetje op met bewijsvoering als de vader was een nazi, dus de zoon is.... Want dan is iedereen in dit land nog uiteindelijk katholiek.
