Palestinian Reuters cameraman Mazen Dana, 43, was shot and killed on Sunday while filming near a U.S.-run prison on the outskirts of Baghdad. Witnesses said he was shot by soldiers on an American tank from close range.

"Army soldiers engaged an individual they thought was aiming an RPG at them. It turned out to be a Reuters cameraman," Navy Capt. Frank Thorp, a spokesman for the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, told Reuters in Washington.

Following this incident, BNN has recommended to the US military that an additional set of playing cards -- similar to those distributed to troops to aid identification of the "Most Wanted" members of the former Ba'athist regime -- should be distributed to American troops to help them distinguish between some of the more difficult-to-identify items that people carry in Iraq.

Our first set of two cards will hopefully prevent a reoccurance of the incident that resulted in the death of Dana.

Photo of the Day is a BNN feature which offers a photograph on a day, and calls it "Photo of the Day". This is not to imply that this is a regular feature, nor that this photo is truly the mother of all photos for the day in question. Usual disclaimers apply.

for all you pencil pushers that have not the slightest clue of what it means to be in combat. I urge you to go and find out what its like before you blame our soldiers that are doing the best they can to survive! I have been strongly against this war but will always support my guys in harms way! In the heat of action those supper duper cards that you have laid out here don't look that different....
