Als je het artikel leest zou je kunnen denken dat Cheney's positie bedreigd wordt. Niets is minder waar.

De eesrte fout die DM maakt is schrijven dat het gaat om topmensen van de CIA.

Spijtijg genoeg voor de journalist in kwestie die het artikel schreef, gaat het om EX-CIA-agenten.

"A group of former intelligence officers in the United States is calling on Vice President Dick Cheney to resign."

Het artikel is zo gebracht dat je zou kunnen denken dat de positie van Cheney ter discussie zou staan maar eventjes surfen door de Amerikaanse krantenwebsites levert niets op.

En als je bij Googlenews voor Amerika "Cheney CIa letter" intikt, krijg je bij dit schrijven vier resultaten van artikels die over dit onderwerp gaan.

In het artikel staat ook dat Cheney en zijn onderchef Libby in aanloop naar de State of The Union speech vaker dan normaal op bezoek gingen bij de CIA.

En ook:

"De ergernis die al enkele weken sluimerde bij de CIA barstte gisteren helemaal uit: een aantal topmedewerkers van de CIA schreef een open brief aan president Bush waarin ze bij hem aandringen op het ontslag van Dick Cheney."

Zoals reeds gezegd is het niet aan aantal topmedewerkers maar EX-agenten van de CIA.

Het stukje op het einde van het artikel is ook leuk.

Clark was niet te gast bij CNN maar bij "NBC's Meet the Press".

Former General Wesley Clark told anchor Tim Russert that Bush administration officials had engaged in a campaign to implicate Saddam Hussein in the September 11 attacks-- starting that very day. Clark said that he'd been called on September 11 and urged to link Baghdad to the terror attacks, but declined to do so because of a lack of evidence.
