An exploratory study is begin done to determine if there are unique psychological attributes of people working for social change which differ from the general population. Three measures are used, as shown below. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete; participation is voluntary and anonymous; no IP addresses or other personal information is logged. Results of the survey will be posted at a future time. Any partially filled out surveys will be disregarded; only complete surveys with every question answered (except for gender) will count.
Bullshit by billy the kid Thursday June 05, 2003 at 08:34 AM |
verdorie toch by lize Thursday June 05, 2003 at 01:48 PM |
zucht.
Is it pathologic to be activist? by calispera Thursday June 05, 2003 at 02:41 PM |
This approach seems to me far too psychiatric, and I don’t trust such kind of approach at all. It tries to fit you in a "label", to make you enter in a norm or in a pathology (in psychiatry you’re never really normal, just a balance of pathologies). And what after? This is not constructive.
Further, there is no information given about the origin of this enquiry, who made it, for who, in which aim, with how many people, from which basical hypothesis, etc.
I prefer the approach of Paul H. Ray and Sherry Ruth Anderson, (sociologic and psychological one) who tried to make a common definition of all the people trying to make something better of the world they’re living in. They did it with the aim of rassembling those people, giving them the conscience they are much more than expected, and that they have much more potential impact that they tehmselves dare to believe.
They explain all this in the book "The Cultural Creatives; How 50 million people are changing the World" (édité en français sous le titre : "L’émergence des créatifs culturels - enquête sur les acteurs d’un changement de société")
This book is made bye American people for American people (from USA) but can be understood by a Belgian, European or anywhere else’s point of view. One has not to agree with the totality of the approach, but it’s the worth while to read it.
Quelles questions! by Dominique Thursday June 05, 2003 at 02:43 PM |
