You and so many others have missed the point. The Dixie Chicks/ (Natalie) have every right to say what they want to. But you of all people, know that words have meaning, and evoke emotions. Natalie miscalculated the popularity of George Bush in the USA and the politics of the people that comprise their fan base. There is no censorship going on.
They can still speak right up about anything they want.
So can the people who disagree with them. There is no effort by big business or government to make everyone think the same way. A lot of people simply don't like it when you slam the Pres. in a foreign country on the eve of war.Musically I think they sound great and make excellent sounding records! It's a shame she felt so compelled to voice that opinion and alienate so many of the people who put them at the top of the country music world. They may never regain the popularity they once enjoyed. It' a tough lesson for them to learn.
