Does Bush really wants to free the Iraqi people? It's seems more like a genocide too me.

A sad state of freedom * by steve Monday March 31, 2003 at 12:45 AM |
The Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet wrote about the situation in Turkey during his lifetime (and it is not much changed since).
"They call this freedom, but it is a sad state of affairs under the stars."
These lines are also appropriate to Iraq.
The USA and the British are acting just like they did in Korea and Vietnam, and elsewhere. In this conflict they are running into more resistance than in previous ones (for example, as far as I know the Taliban did not try suicide bombing as a tactic when Afghanistan was invaded) and so here the American response is more savage as a result.
