Iraqi TV shows results of what appears to have been an ambush.
Iraqi TV today (March 30) has been showing footage of a destroyed or abandoned US tank and a bulldozer. US military uniforms, firearms and personal effects were put on display on the ground, apparently nearby. Iraqi paramilitaries in black with keffiyahs covering their faces waved Kalashnikovs and a picture of Saddam in celebration for the camera.
Iraqi information minister Sahaf said amongst other things that US troops near Najaf have been murdering Iraqi civilians.
