The oil refinery and depots in Abadan were the primary targets. The were casualties but no deaths. US and UK bombers have also circled over Arvand-Kenar in Iran on their way into Iraq."

Coincidently, in Washington, DC, on March 17, 2003, relatives of US Marines killed in Lebanon were allowed to proceed with a lawsuit to collect $2 billion in damages from the Iranian government. According to the sometimes reliable Washington Post, "U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth has ruled that survivors and family members can sue Iran under the provisions of a 1996 law that allows U.S. citizens to take legal action against nations that sponsor terrorism. 'The U.S. military force . . . embodies everything that is resented by the enemies of this country,' Lamberth wrote. 'Failure to permit military service member [lawsuits] would create a perverse incentive for state sponsors of terrorism to target noncombatant U.S. military personnel."

Prophétique! On les voit venir de mieux en mieux les Américains. Pour le Kosovo, l'OTAN et les opinions publiques se sont laissées avoir. Pour l'Afghanistan après le 11 septembre, il y a eu des failles dans la version officielle de la guerre pour la démocratie. Pour l'Irak, personne n'y croit plus. En attendant, on sait ce que sont devenus le Kosovo et l'Afghanistan: vachement libérés et vachement démocratiques. Au Kosovo, on a faim et on subit la loi mafieuse de l'UCK. L'Afghanistan est toujours sous la burqua.
L'Iran est un grand pays riche très bien organisé, laborieux et fort autoritaire, avec une police politique qui espionne les idées des citoyens et qui leur reniffle l'haleine : il faut franchement faire gaffe à ce qu'on dit, à ce qu'on boit et à avec qui on baise. Il y a des exécutions publiques par pendaison, ce n'est pas de la propagande, c'est vrai.
Donc, on bombarde pour libérer. Logique...
Je souhaite que les autorités iraniennes achètent plein d'équivalents russes des Stinger: ca sera bon pour l'économie russe.
