Pictures on Gent gebombardeerd and the evening protest march are on www.appletree.be.
Yesterday was a black day in history, day X.
At the Graslei in Gent it showed. Hundreds of students, man, women and children showed their concern. Accompanied by the tones of Das Pop and 4T4, who played an experimental music project. Sound samples of exploding bombs, firing machine guns and pounding beats echoed over the Graslei. After that performance, some well-known figures from Gent, like SMAK conservator Jan Hoet, city council member Dany Vandenbossche and a sample of students spoke their minds, calling upon everyone to protest against Bushes and Blair's policy. A small group of people started a spontaneous march through the streets of Gent trying to mobilize everyone they came across with, to join the protest.
1 2 3 4 we don't want no fucking war 5 6 7 8 steek die bommen in je reet ( put those bombs up your ass ).
And in the evening a massive protest rally marched through the streets of Gent, I ain't gonna try to guess how much, but al least a couple of thousand people. It really gives hope that all ages and colors are against this insane and inhuman war. Some visuals are on http://www.appletree.be
