With a group of belgian unionist and pacifist, we wanted continue express our NO to the US war, after the marvelous 15 of february. What between two manifestations ? Our proposal is a boycott of a few very symbolic products, with a focused comunication campaign around.
Day after day, each one of us can show our opposition to the war of aggression pushed for by the US government.
War, they say without hesitation, is necessary to relaunch the economy.
G. W. Bush wages war for his multinational friends, we say to these multinationals that we do not want their war.
The purpose is, of course, not to boycott all products "made in USA".
The purpose is not to confront the people of the United States. Each day, many more of them show their opposition to this war.
The purpose is to speak to the American Establishment in the only language they understand: trade and money.
It means that thousands of us say: today, I won't use this particular product. And it means that thousands of us, by this action, broaden the peace movement in Belgium and Europe.
Will it be efficient ?
When it is clearly focused (on two or three products), a boycott can be effective as soon as consumption falls by 1 or 2%.
The effectiveness of this boycott will above all depend on the message sent at the same time, i.e. the thousands of "no thanks" sent to each of the following companies:

Why we do not boycott 2 or 3 Americans Oil Company like Shell or others, during one or several months :they want this war, they are responsible for this war in Irak?
Please give me an answer
