This evening representatives of NGO's and Members of the European Parliament will demonstrate that Europe is not divided over a possible war over Iraq. The NGO's feel backed by the millions of demonstrators and the opinion polls which clearly illustrate that a very large majority of Europeans is opposed to a US-led war in Iraq. The Members of the European Parliament want to hand an anti-war resolution adopted by the European Parliament to the Greek Prime Minister, who is chairing today's Summit of the EU heads of state and heads of government.

At this moment NGO's and MEP's are negotiating with the Greek presidency for a delegation to be received before the start of the Summit at 6 p.m. this evening. The police has given a permit to demonstrate and Schuman Metro station is open for demonstrators to join the action in the Wetstraat/Blijde Inkomstraat near Schuman.

The will have a siren, torches, white masks and signs denouncing the US-led warmachine. They will remind the EU leaders of the results of opinion polls, as well as signs which will read: "Saddam dictator of Iraq! Bush dictator of the World?"; "Iraqi people do not want war" and "We want inspections in Iraq and EUROPE" illustrating the opposition of the peacecampaigners to the secret deployment of an estimated 150 US B-61 nuclear weapons in Belgium, Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and Turkey.

Greenpeace announced they will join the protest.

Travel to Metro Schuman. Demonstration is in Wetstraat/Schuman/Blijde Inkomstraat, approximately 150m from the Summit.
