It is of utmost importance that we pave the way for better technologies in energy production and consumption. For about 10 years I have been searching and some I found, are truly to share with very little pollution in return.
It should be noticed that the stockage of electricity in batteries requires a lot of very polluting chemistry, like dangerous fluids and heavy and toxic metals like plumb. Although an electrical car doesn't exhaust these chemicals while driving, the danger remains that they are dispersed in nature afterwards.
However, to my findings, better technologies do exist. One of them is the zero-pollution-car driving 200km on compressed air. This is a really refreshing and brandnew technology, since they are only taken into production since a couple of months. Please surf to http://www.bellwetherinteractive.com/mdi for more direct information on this kind of cars.
Furthermore, I am convinced that wind energy is a very important provider of energy, not only for the production of electricity. It is sufficient to mount an air compressor instead of an electricity generator to supply pressurised air for cars to drive on. Other possibilities are the production of hot water with water brakes and heat-pumps.
In 1996, I took a three months trainee-ship in the Danish Folkecenter for Renewable Energy in order to be able to learn about and experience with small scale windturbines.
There, I also studied a report on the use of seatide and wave energy, written by Sti Vindelov, who was one of the pioneers in this field. To my regret this report was not returned to me after I borrowed it for an educational tour.
In this report it is stated that the coasts of Europe provide enough energy to supply Europe with energy. In this report the stress was rather on the production of electricity, but I think that this form is much better suited for the production of pressurised air!
However, clean technologies exist, the REAL problem is that the establishment do not want to accept them. Speaking out like this, I was excluded from work since my return from Denmark. I do not want to work in polluting industries any longer, as I feel this would be a step backwards. But I did not find any goodwill of our government towards the development of these better technologies, so I stayed busy at home with small scale research and development out of the 'trash-can'. I plan to show some of these findings to the world in springtime. Interested or you want to help set up a campaign? Mail me!
