Nepalese Asylum Seeker Brutally Tortured By The Belgian Police by Nepalese People's Progressive Forum, Belgium Wednesday January 29, 2003 at 10:16 PM |
We are informed that Mr. Parmananda Sapkota an asylum seekers from Nepal, was compelled to face brutally tortured by the Belgian police on 26 January while he opposed his deportation. He was tied by chain and seriously beaten by the police. His face, hands, legs and body are heavily swelled and injured. He is now with blood-effusions in Merksplas.
We request all the human rights organizations, social organizations,
doctors, lawyers, journalists, intellectuals, human rights activists and
reputed personals of Belgium to visit immediately him and make pressure to
begin his treatment and not to deport any Nepalese by forced while in Nepal
there is going on deepening civil war and most of innocent people are being
victimized by the feudal barbaric state which is also proved by the recent
published reports of Amnesty International, London.
We request the Belgian authority respect the life of Nepalese asylum
seekers, not to torture inhuman way and not to deport by force exercising
undemocratic way.
