40 millions EUR for the federal belgium we site !

And it has to do with the "famous" Andersen Consulting (yes the one that has been convicted for fraud). Question : how many Belgian politicians have been bribed and corrupted in this scandal ?

i've read an article in De Morgen of 30/12 about the cost of the federal
belgium web site, http://www.belgium.be. Around 40 millions EUR in 5 years... and
a large part for Accenture (the renamed Anderson consulting) for consulting
and architecture definition...

it would be interesting to know more about it and the kind of technologies
behind it... (microsoft probably?).

server != microsoft

The server isn't from Microsoft, it's a Unix-server, using java technology (from SUN)

You should also know that a lot of administration is starting to go through Belgium.be . You have to register your employees there (which frees employers from some paperwork), and new technologies are being under development. Lot's of paperwork from social-security (not for end-users) is starting to go through te site as well.
Developing those application costs a lot of money, since good programmers are hard to find, and the site has to work always, since it gets quite important.

With 1 million Euro, it may be hard to pay 100.000 hours of programming. That means about 40 people working on the project. I admit that's a lot, but with all our gouvernement agencies in Belgium, it's not that much.

it still a fuckin' lot for a bunch of usurping morons though!!
