The police of Antwerp is at the moment blocking a big group of worshipers in front of the Bilal Mosque in the vanmontfortstraat in Borgerhout.
This is a clear attempt to provoque our community into a complete confrontation. The AEL is calling for calm but the policy of the city is making it more difficult for us.
The City of Antwerp is the only responsible for the escalation.

Thera is a tense situation around the Bilal Mosque in Borgerhout. Groups of angry people are hanging around in the area. Lots of copcars are patrolling and also a police helicopter. A bigger group formed and starts moving.

Hoewel alles rustig bleef, is er nu (16.30u) een serieuze politieopbouw bezig: de meeste straten rond de Bilal Moskee en de plaats van de moord (schapenstraat) zijn afgezet met kordons in oproertenu. Dit lijkt vragen om moeilijkheden.

Het stikt ondertussen van de stillen. En de Kordons omsluiten een steeds nauwere omgeving. Er zouden 'agitatoren' gesignaleerd zijn rond de Helmstraat. Een deel van de oproerpolitie begint nu (16.52u) in te stappen.
