ANARCHIST-COMMUNISTS BREAK AWAY FROM MAINSTREAM PROTEST OF NEARLY 100,000 IN SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

An anarchist-communist group from the San Francisco Bay Area was instrumental in facilitating a breakaway march from the IAC/ANSWER-led demonstration in San Francisco on October 26th.

Over 3000 people deserted the IAC rally and the IAC speakers and the police-approved protest to take back the streets of SF.

The break-away protest overturned barricades, marched into on-coming traffic, broke into spontaneous sprints to outrun the police, and cut through parks and side streets to keep cops away and the demo alive.
A man who decided to drive his SUV into the group was left with a smashed-up car and 4 deflated tires.

The anarchist-communists, red and black flags waving high, created a much-needed counter to the liberalism and anti-organized anarchism in the Bay Area.

Bravo to our sisters and brothers on the westcoast for doing what we failed to do on the east. Very inspiring and glad to hear of such work in the face of such authoritarian groups as ANSWER and their state-approved march.

By the way, what I remember from the Spanish Civil War is backstabbing commies.

I fail to see the revolutionary potential or organisation in smashing up a car. Could be me of course.
The Spanish Civil War was indeed a great example of anarchist organisation and the proof of what we can achieve when we organise. Organising is the way to go. And a watchfull eye in the direction of authoritarians.

[1] It doesn't even say what was the demonstration about.

[2] It doesn't say what was the political points of ANSWER coalition they didn't agree with.

[3] It doesn't explain about their own demands.

It just says: "Wow, look how cool we are, even in a leftwing demonstration we can be anti-conformists and individualists..."

Pfff...

c'est vraimlent irresponsable et non constructif de quitter le parcours officiel que la police a imposé pour déranger le moins de personne. Et ils n'ont même pas dit pourquoi ils n'étaient pas contents avec la coalition ANSWER . Quels bandes de mechants individualistes !

Comme si pendant une action spontané, les gars allaient se rassembler pour envoyer un communiquer de presse et argumenter sur les points avec lesquelles ils sont en désacords.
Ils auraient du faire une 2 em manif , une semaine avant par exemple, ça c'est plus malin.

Tout le monde n'as plus la chance d'avoir encore dans son pays un vrai parti communiste qui soutient la corée du nord

Only people who know about that demonstration, about ANSWER, etc, can understand a bit ...

Indymedia isn't the place to write to your friends and for the 'happy few' hardcore activists, but to a large audience.

[3] Sure, if they weren't happy with that demo, they could have organized another one. Why not?

[4] That's true that not everybody have the chance to have in their country a communist party which support North Korea. But don't worry, there's one in USA.
And the more Bush & Cie. will threatten North Korea [and other countries and populations], the more people will support it.

But if you want to bring "democracy" and "freedom" in North Korea, join the Glorious Army of the United States of America.
