Muhammed accused the United States and the West of seeking to deprive Muslims of the means to defend themselves in the face of Israel's bloated nuclear arsenal.

Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian premier Mahatter Muhammad blamed Western especially American embrace of Israeli Nazism for the proliferation of violence and terror in much of the world.

Speaking during a conference on the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in Kuala Lumpur Tuesday, the veteran Malaysian leader said there was a clear connection between the rise of global terrorism and Western support for the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people.

Muhammed castigated the duplicitous American approach to the issue of weapons of mass destruction.

"I don't understand why there is no pressure on Israel to dispose of its nuclear weapons while there is a lot of pressure on other countries to do so."

Israel is known to possess as many as 400 nuclear weapons in addition to a huge arsenal of chemical and biological weapons.

The US government and congress as well as media have repeatedly refused even to discuss the possession by Israel of weapons of mass destruction on the ground that Israel is America's principle ally in the turbulent Middle East.
