MORE THAN 2000 MEMBERS AND SYMPATHIZERRS OF THE ARAB EUROPEAN LEAGUE (AEL) DEMONSTRATED TODAY IN ANTWERP TO COMMEMORATE THE AL AQSA INTIFADA

Antwerp- 29 09 2002

Between 2000 and 3000 people marched today through the city of Antwerp answering an appeal of the Arab European League (AEL) to demonstrate on the second anniversary of Al Aqsa Intifada. The demonstrators, mainly from the Arab and the Muslim community of Antwerp, chanted slogans of Support to the Palestinian resistance in all its factions, and also slogans against the war in Iraq. Also local political issues were not absent as slogans supporting the civil rights struggle of the Arab-Muslim community and the demands of the AEL were chanted as well.
The demonstration was loud and emotional and took a long trajectory through the Arab neighborhoods of Antwerp. At the end of the rally AEL President Dyab Abou Jahjah addressed the crowd calling for "unconditional support for the Palestinian resistance of the occupier by any means necessary and without any complexes", as the crowd reacted enthusiastically chanting "Allah Akbar" and chanting the names of Palestinian and Lebanese resistance factions. Abou Jahjah also emphasized the opposition to any military action against Iraq "they should know very well that any attack on Iraq is an attack on the Iraqi people and not the regime and that any attack against the Iraqi people is an attack against us". Ahmed Azzuz the head of
Division-Antwerpen of the Arab European League thanked the massive crowd for the support they show towards AEL and its actions and told them that "the way is long and that new actions will follow, so we have to stay alert at any moment and ready to mobilize".
It is worth mentioning that no serious incidents occurred and that the police forces congratulated the AEL security team on their efficient handling of the demonstration.

The Arab European League will keep pursuing its goals in serving the interest of our Arab and Muslim community in Europe and the just causes of our Arab and Muslim Brothers and sisters everywhere.
Glory to our Martyrs
Glory to the Intifada

Ce nationalisme religieux est absolument puant !
Il est absolument identique à celui des compères de Sharon.
Il ne sert en rien la cause des Palestiniens.
