The Israeli occupation forces on Friday one again stormed into Gaza camp and violent confrontations erupted with the citizens who hurried to defend themselves and houses. The confrontation resulted in wounding four Palestinians including two children, while an Israeli military source admitted that three Israeli soldiers were wounded in the confrontation.

The Israeli army chief of staff Moshe Yaloun said in a statement issued by the Israeli daily Haartez on Friday that the Palestinian Intifada is like a cancer, and he threatened to oppress and silence this Intifada by collective extermination of the Palestinians.

Yaloun added that the Palestinian Intifada is considered as one of the most dangerous outer threats to Israel's existence.

Meantime, the Sans Frontier organization for the Israeli human rights called for investigating the Israeli defense minister Benyamin Ben Eliezer and the Israeli army chief of staff Moshe Yaloun over the use of Flashite shells used by the Israeli army in shelling Palestinian civilians, noting that each of the said shells contains thousands of nails.

In a message of protest to the legal advisor of the Israeli government Elakim Robinshtine, the organization said that the Flashite shells were used in bombarding a Palestinian house in al-Sheikh Ajleen quarters in Gaza last Wednesday and resulted in killing four Palestinians from one family. The organization added that the Israel's defense minister Ben Eliezer and Moshe Yaloun are approving the use of these weapons despite the fact that international law bans their use against civilians.

Three Palestinian boys from Beit Hanoun village in Gaza, prior to Sheikh Ajleen massacre were killed as a result of the Israeli forces use of Flashite shells.

Palestinian officials said that the Israeli army on Friday lifted for the first time and only for four hours the curfew imposed on the city of Nablus since 22 months.

Palestinian sources said that total number during which the Israeli forces lifted the curfew from Nablus since June 21 did not exceed 51 hours.

Extermination of Palestinians?
by Peter Zegers Wednesday September 04, 2002 at 12:08 AM

Moshe Ya'alon's remarks about the "cancerous threat" of the Palestinians is bad enough as it is (it caused quite an uproar in Israel), but I can't find anything about "extermination of the Palestinians" in the interview you mentioned as a source (see below).

HA'ARETZ Friday Magazine 30 Aug.'02: "The enemy within"
By Ari Shavit

INTERVIEW:

Q. Lieutenant General Yarom,: of all the threats surrounding the State of Israel, which disturbs you the most? Are any of the threats of an existential nature?

A. "When I look at the overall map, what disturbs me especially is the Palestinian threat and the possibility that a hostile state will acquire nuclear capability. Those are the most worrisome focal points, because both of them have the potential of being an existential threat to Israel. We have good answers for all the other threats. We have a good answer for what Hezbollah can do and for what the Syrians can do. We also have a good answer for what the Iraqis are liable to do."

Q. There is something surprising in the fact that you see the Palestinian threat as an existential threat.

A. "The characteristics of that threat are invisible, like cancer. When you are attacked externally, you see the attack, you are wounded. Cancer, on the other hand, is something internal. Therefore, I find it more disturbing, because here the diagnosis is critical. If the diagnosis is wrong and people say it's not cancer but a headache, then the response is irrelevant. But I maintain that it is cancer. My professional diagnosis is that there is a phenomenon here that constitutes an existential threat."

Q. Does that mean that what you are doing now, as chief of staff, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, is applying chemotherapy?

A. "There are all kinds of solutions to cancerous manifestations. Some will say it is necessary to amputate organs. But at the moment, I am applying chemotherapy, yes."

Could you send me the quote where Ya'alon talks about the "extermination of the Palestinians"?

no response from AEL... would it be manipulation?...

But as Peter Zegers said, the quote in Haaretz is bad enough. The Palestinian Cause do not need manipulation!!

Israel storms Jenine ?
by Christophe R. Wednesday September 04, 2002 at 11:11 AM

I didn't know Jenine was in Gaza...

What's the sense of the title ?
I'm agree with Naim, the Palestinian Cause doesn't need manipulation and propaganda... it's sad to see some organizations try to falsify the true for their own interests...

Jenin was stormed on the 31st of august, but the worse casualties were in Gaza Camp. Don't be silly while trying to be smart giving geography lesson. Any person of good will understand that. Regarding the extermination quote,
considering the palestinians as a cancer and saying that it might be necessary to There are all kinds of solutions to cancerous manifestations. Some will say it is necessary to amputate organs. But at the moment, I am applying chemotherapy, some according to him say that "it is necessary to amputate organs" amputate????? and he doesn't sday that it is out of question he just says that AT THE MOMENT "I am applying chemotherapy". in other words if occupation and oppression and murder fails he might consider amputation. still no call for extermination???

information VS manipulation

the question is : why to give the title "Israel storms Jenine", when the issue is not about Jenine ?
Information doesn't work like this...
