WE STRONGLY DEMAND TO WITHDRAW BELGIAN ARMS DELIVERY TO THE FEUDAL MURDERERS IN NEPAL

It is well known that in Nepal there is civil war and state of emergency . All kinds of human rights and democratic rights are violated furiously by the government . The economy of the country has been getting down rapidly, people are getting more trouble than ever and the government is going to solve the problem with gun not by the other proper way . In this critical situation the government of Belgium has announced its intention to support the feudal autocracy in Nepal with weapon shipment. To support the present Nepalese regime with gun is to kill the innocent Nepalese civilians .

The armed shipment includes 5,500 pieces of sophisticated machine guns for the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) which is daily carrying out mass-murder of innocent civilian, especially the peasantry, throughout the country. This armed suppression of the people is carried out in the name of crushing so-called terrorism while all political parties, human rights groups, intellectuals and all citizen societies are raising the voice to resolve the problem through the democratic way and the Maoist rebellion also has declared that they are ready to resolve the crisis in the same way .
All kinds of constitutional rights, such as freedom of expression and free press have been curtailed by
the government of Nepal under the countrywide state of emergency.

Even the Parliament has been dissolved against the background of deepening political crisis. Dozens of
peoples are killed, raped, disappeared everyday by the RNA under the emergency. Under this emergency, newspapers have been raids and shutdown, journalists are arrested, tortured and killed. A case in point is the murder of the well known journalist, Krishna Sen, the editor of Janadesh.

All democratic governments are duty-bound to recognise the right of the people to struggle for their own destiny. The rebellion in Nepal is an internal political conflict which brooks no interference from foreign states. Hence, aiding the Nepalese state with the arm shipment amounts to supporting the murders, rape, arson, imprisonment and disappearance of the people. We request to the Belgian government should demand a political solution to the conflict which alone would reflect the political reality and the demands of the people, Instead of supporting the Nepalese government with the weapons.
