Today (tuesday 5. february), a delegation of CS2 went to the Ministry of current affairs and to ministre Landuyt. They arrived about 10 o'clock at the ministry of current affairs, where a delegate from CS2 and ABVV had a conversation with a represantative of ministre Duquesne.

The personnel of CS2 pleas their case at the ministries.

We talked with Ron Lacson when they came out of the ministry.

What has been told at the Ministry?
It was very positive, they will prolong our visum when we get a prolongiation of our working license from ministre Landuyt. If that is agreed, our case becomes a topprioraty. That's why we are going now to the cabinet of ministre Landuyt.
And what happens with those who want to go back to their country?
A ticket for a plain costs enourmous much money. And most of them haven't got that money because their hire contracts of their house is still going for a few months.
The ministry is looking forr a possibility to help them. Till then, they are actually illegals, and if they throw you out of the country as an illegal, there is no possibility to come back ever. CS2 picked those people from the labour market, and they don't deserve it to become excluded here.

After the conversation with ministre Landuyt CS2 told this:

They will do everything to prolong our working license for a period of 1 year. All the foreigns employees are able to say in Belgium, and they heve the time to look out for a new job. The former employees of CS2 will be placed in a "Work Employment Cell". That's the same as what they did wit the employees of Sabena and Lernout & Houspie. This contains that the ministry will search a new job as quick as possible.
Concerning the problems with the rents, there is a possibility that juridical counselours can help us. This afternoo they will find a solution for that problem.
There is no problem with the unemployment payments. The foreigners who want to go back to their country have to wait a while because ministre Landuyt isn't competent for those cases.
