La ministre française de la Jeunesse et des Sports, Marie-George Buffet, a été entartée lundi par des militants de l'association française AARRG (Apprentis agitateurs pour un réseau de résistance globale), à l'issue de son intervention au Forum social mondial de Porto Alegre, a constaté l'AFP.

Mme Buffet répondait aux questions de journalistes lorsqu'un entarteur lui a jeté en pleine figure un énorme gâteau de la taille d'une assiette.

Un autre jeune Français lui a lancé: "Ce n'est pas pour toi, Marie-George, c'est pour le gouvernement". Elle lui a répondu du tac au tac, tout en tentant de se nettoyer: "C'est peut-être pour le gouvernement, mais c'est moi qui la reçoit!".

Un jeune français proche d'AARRG a expliqué à l'AFP, "On pense que le gouvernement français n'est pas un gouvernement de gauche". "Le discours qu'elle a tenu ce matin nous a mis les boules, parce qu'il y a un tel écart entre ce qu'elle dit et ce que l'on aimerait dans ce qui se passe depuis cinq ans" que le gouvernement de Lionel Jospin est aux affaires.

En février 2000, lors d'une conférence de la CNUCED à Bangkok, un autre Français, Michel Camdessus, alors directeur général du FMI, avait été entarté par un militant antimondialisation américain.

Apparently there was another such symbolic action today:
a group of around 100 tambourine-playing rebels danced and frolicked their way 'round the Porto Alegre university buildings.

They forced their way into the WSF VIP halls (not in use at the time). Yelling slogans and samba-ing, they distributed to bystanders the snacks and booze intended for the VIPs.

Their point:

TODOS SOMOS VIPS, SEM PARTIDO,
AL CARALHO COM O FMI, O POVO UNIDO
GOVERNA SEM PARTIDO.

We are all VIPs!
no political parties!
to %!?* with the FMI!
united, the people governs without parties!

Personally, I think this is a very valid point: anti-globalisation is about people-power, not about kowtowing to celebrities! Chomsky, Vasquez Montalban, Petrella and C° are all very well, but we now need to get beyond this hero-worshipping submissiveness.
