Ik las eerder deze avond dit commentaar op de Israelische pagina's van Indymedia:

I happen to agree with the content of the cartoon; however, the piles of shit, and genitals revealed really do not lend themselves to cartoonist satire, but to vulgar shit, pardon me.
The cartoon discredits itself. I might even agree that it is Antisemitic, being that Sharon equates himself with the whole of the Jewish peoples's past and present. I consider him a war criminal.
No more war crimes!
And to the folks who like this kind of cartoon...
shame on you"

How could it be antisemitic? Because of the Israel flag? Israel and the jewish people are not the same at all. One is a state created with geo-political views, the other is a religion.
Nobody ever have claimed that someone was anti-christian because s)he have done a cartoon criticizing USA and US flag. Why should it be different with Israel?
This cartoon doesnt even say something about Israeli people, because nobody would think Israel state = Israel people.
Of course you may appreciate it or not for it's humour, political views, etc... Anti-semitic? Not a single second.

Steeds weer vind ik het een bevreemdende ervaring te moeten zien hoe men poogt politieke correctheid aan artiesten op te leggen.
Er zijn geen mogelijkheden om Sharon af te beelden die vulgairder zijn dan wat hij zelf uithaalt. Bovendien is dat niet de essentie van de cartoon, die is immers subtieler: Sharon krijgt de mogelijkheden om het beest uit te hangen van de US of fucking A. Aangezien zij de wapens en munitie leveren, hebben ze er geen belang bij de vrede in de regio te bevorderen.
Geen oorlogsmisdaden meer!????? Is dat soms de bedoeling? Laten we elkaar in de toekomst dan maar volgens vooraf afgesproken regels afmaken, zoals beschaafde mensen dat horen te doen ...
Sharon identificeert zichzelf met het verleden en heden van het Joodse volk en daarom is een tekening van Sharon antisemitisch. Ik merk op dat de man niets maar dan ook niets van 'zijn' verleden heeft geleerd en heden dan ook anderen aandoet wat 'hem' is overkomen.
