Police undercover in the streets
by Fata Morgana Friday December 14, 2001 at 06:26 PM

Maior of Brussels lies in public. I witnessed the actions of three 'international' policemen.

I don't know why the authorities refuse to admit there were no undercover police-officers in the protesting crowd.

I myself witnessed three policemen in 'normal' clothes making notes about the protesters and talking over cellular phones all the time, two German and one Belgian officer. It was quite funny: One of the Germans spoke perfect French, the Belgian officer hardly and no German at all. Freddie Thielemans, maior of Brussels, refuses to admit orders given in this direction. To me it is clear: he has no control about his men (and everybody who knows something about Brussels' politics knows this is a fact). Not one maior ever had control over these forces. They act as if they are the upper rulers of this city and to the inhabitants of this city they are worse a plague than the cockroaches and mice (which seem to be extinctable). Anyway, at this time we hear stories of them using the watercannon. In this weather this is absolutely not done. Thielemans is giving at the same time a pressconference. In which he says it's the demonstrators' fault.

Right Freddie. I was there. I saw them. You lied once. You'll be lying again.
One of these days we'll kick you out.
