Legal teams: "police does not respect agreements"" by dispatch team indymedia Friday December 14, 2001 at 01:50 PM |
Reaction of Ivo Flachet (responsable of the legal teams)
"With D14 we had an agreement with mayor Thielemans that no cops would mingle amongst the demonstrators. During the demo we noticed that undercoveragents are all over the demo. They're dressed as demonstrators, wear keffiahs etc. If we talk to them they deny or even react aggressively. I met a responsable of the BOB (Belgian undercovercops) and he admitted that undercovercops are in the demo and afterwards he told them to leave the demo. It's clear that Thielemans is not respecting the agreement."

Ein Bericht des Legal Teams by oopitz Friday December 14, 2001 at 07:00 PM |

IF YOU REALLY THOUGHT THAT THIELEMANS WOULD STICK TO SUCH AN AGREEMENT I THINK YOU'RE TOO NAIEVE!!!
EVEN IF HE INTENDED TO, I DON'T THINK THAT THE MAYOR CAN DO MORE THEN ASK THE POLICE POLITELY NOT TO MINGLE WITH THE DEMONSTRATORS; HE MIGHT BE THE CHIEF OF THE LOCAL POLICE BUT HAS NO AUTHORITY AT ALL OVER THE FEDERAL POLICE CORPS; IF YOU WANT SUCH PROMISES TO BE MADE YOU BETTER NEGOTIATE WITH THE HOME OFFICE. I THOUGHT A "LEGAL TEAM" KNEW THIS!!!!!!
