Apart from the giant blocks formed by the 4 Belgian trade unions, the many foreign delegations catch the eye. Armed with paper and something to write (the oldfashioned way)in the freezing cold I briefly interview some of the foreign delegations. A brief report...

Fernando Mauricio and 100 others from the Portuguese trade union CGTP are hear to demonstrate for a Europe of the citizens. They also want to defend the workers' rights because they're threatened by the EU. They'll will leave this evening so they won't participate in the actions during the following days.
Francine Didilot and the 800 other demonstrators from French CFDT also came to defend the social rights. They also gonna leave this evening.
Mustafa came with some 60 Turkish migrants who live in Germany. He strongly opposes against privatisations, the IMF and the capitalist globalisation.
GĂ©rard Bonin is a member of French CGT. They came with 600 demonstrators. He's sure that Europa as designed by the EU won't be a social one. Asked about his point of view on Sabena, he says that in his union the workers themselves decide on what the unionpolicy is gonna be. They decide and not the big bosses of the union.
