Masacre in Black communities in Colombia

A new operative of paramilitars has started in the Naya River, in the Pacific Coast of Colombia, where black communities are settled. Last night the first masacre took place. They haven't account the amount of murdered people yet.
Many of you have met the some delegates from the PCN, who came from that river and Yurumangui River, during their tour in Europe.
In April this year, the paramilitars came to the Naya River and killed about 300 people. A couple of weeks later, during the Donnors Table in Brussels (European Union gave about 300 milloens euros to the Colombian Goverment to implement the "social part" of the Plan Colombia), the paramilitars went to the next river, Yurumangi river, and killed 25 persons. These masacres were announced before by the navy army. The people went to all the institutions in Colombia trying to prevent the masacre. There was a question from a diputate of the European Parlament to the European Comission about this case. A letter signed by many members of the European Parlament and others organizations were sent to the Colombian Goverment and some others Colombian institutions. Nothing worked, and the masacre took place anyway, with total impunity of the killers. Even when the killers were surrounded by the guerrilla, they were evacuated very fast by helicopters from the army.

Now the story is repeated. A few days ago the communities were threatened with the entrance of the paramilitars. The social movements got information about the coming masacre. They went to all the institutions asking for protection. But nothing was done by the colombian goverment.

Last night the masacre started, but it is only the begginning. It is clear that they will continue all along the river and then the next river, Yurumangi. Hundred of people will be killed, and it seems that the only thing we can do is waiting for the list of deaths, as they were only numbers and information and not humans beings. Yes, we can send letters, we must do it anyway, thousands of letters. But we have to do something else. I don't know what, maybe action against the colombian consulate, maybe calls and faxes to our own shit goverments to ask them take the responsability and send the typical letter...I know for a couple of things that the actions against the consulate have some effect in Colombia, even if they are small. That was clear in a couple of cases.

The other thing it could be the almost impossible task of get "an important person" going there as a small wall of protection. Maybe the crazy idea of trying to get a quick intenational peace brigade to go there with an "important people".

In a couple of hours I will have more information, I will know how many people were killed. A permision to spread the "oficial" letter of the organizations will be given. And this night more people will be killed in front of our noses.

And then some one will speak about the problems with the drugs and the guerrilla in Colombia, and will tell me about how much violent the colombian are. And they will not look about the privatization of the electricity in the department from Union Fenosa (Spanish Transnational) and its responsability on the murder of members of the trade unions; they will not look that the reason of the masacres are displacing the population, because they have colective rights on the land. Land where there is petrol, gold, genetic resources...They will not understand that this war in Colombia is only part of a incredible maquiavelic plan to destroy the people in order to make more profit, to implement big megaproject, to exploit oil...; to dissapear the indigenous peoples to steal their land and their resourses....Because for the capital a entire amount of peoples doesn't matter so much, they are only small numbers in a stadistic.

Please, could you and your colective do something about this case? Could you organize a simultanous protest in front of all fucking colombian consulate? Could you think about something else?
This people must not be small numbers in a stadistic for us.

Una nueva ofensiva paramilitar ha comenzado en el río Naya, en la costa del Pacífico Colombiano, donde se asientan comunidades negras. La pasada noche tuvo lugar la primera masacre. Todavía no se ha contabilizado el numero de personas asesinadas.

Much@s de vosotr@s habeis conocido durante su gira en Europa a algun@s de l@s delegad@s del PCN, procedentes del rio Naya y Yurumangi.

En abril de este anho, los paramilitares llegaron al rio Naya y asesinaron a cerca de 300 personas. Unas semanas mas tarde, durante la Mesa de Donantes en Bruselas (La Union Europea dio alrededor de 300 millones de euros al gobierno colombiano para implementar la "parte social" del plan Colombia), los paramilitares pasaron al siguiente rio, el rio Yurumangi, y asesinaron a 25 personas. Estas masacres fueron anunciadas con anterioridad por el ejercito de la marina. La gente fue a todas las instituciones en Colombia, tratando de impedir la anunciada masacre. Una pregunta por parte de una diputada del Parlamente Europeo fue hecha a la Comision Europea sobre este caso. Una carta firmada por much@s miembr@s del Parlamento Europeo y otras organizaciones fue enviada al gobierno colombiano y a algunas otras instituciones colombianas.
Nada funciono y la masacre tuvo lugar de todas maneras, con la impunidad total de los asesinos. Incluso en un momento en que los asesinos fueron rodeados por la guerrillas, estos fueron evacuados muy rapidamente de la zona por helicópteros del ejercito colombiano.

Ahora, la historia se repite. Hace unos dias las comunidades fueron amenazadas con la entrada de los paramilitares. Los movimientos sociales consiguieron información sobre la cercana masacre. Fueron a todas las instituciones pidiendo protección. Pero el gobierno colombiano no hizo nada.

La pasada madrugada empezo la masacre, pero solo es el principio. Es claro que continuara a lo largo de todo el rio y después pasaran al siguiente, el rio Yurumangi. Cientos de personas seran asesinadas, y parece que la unica cosa que podemos hacer es esperar la lista de muert@s , como si fuesen solo numeros, información ...y no seres humanos. Si, podemos enviar cartas. Debemos hacerlo de todas maneras. Miles de cartas. Pero tenemos que hacer algo mas. No se el que. Quizas acciones contra el consulado colombiano, quizas llamadas y faxes a nuestros propios asquerosos gobiernos y pedirles que asuman la responsabilidad y envien la tipica misiva....Se por un par de casos que las acciones contra los consulados han tenido algun efecto en Colombia, incluso si eran pequenhas.

Otra cosa podria ser la casi imposible tarea de conseguir "una persona importante" que fuese alli como un pequeho muro de protección. Quizas la loca idea de tratar de conseguir rapidamente una brigada internacional de paz que fuese a la zona con una "persona importante".

En un par de horas tendre mas información. Sabre cuanta gente fue asesinada. El permiso para distribuir la carta "oficial" de las organizaciones sera dado. Y esta noche mas gente sera asesinada frente a nuestras narices.

Y entonces alguien me hablara sobre los problemas con las drogas y la guerrilla en Colombia; y me contara sobre cuan violentos son los colombiaos. Y no veran la privatizacion de la energia electrica en el departamento por Union FENOSA (transnacional española) y su responsabilidad en los asesinatos de miembros del sindicado; no veran que la razon de la masacre es el desplazamiento de la población porque posee derechos colectivos sobre la tierra. Tierra donde hay petroleo, oro, recursos geneticos..No entenderan que esta guerra en Colombia es solo parte de un increíble maquiavélico plan para destruir a la gente y poder obtener mas beneficios; para implementar grandes megaproyectos, para explotar el petroleo; para desaparecer pueblos indígenas y asi poder robarles su tierra y sus recursos...Porque para el capital una cantidad de pueblos enteros no significa mucho, tan solo son pequenhos numeros en una estadística.

Por favor, podrias tu y tu colectivo hacer algo sobre este caso? Podríais organizar protestas en frente de todos los malditos consulados colombianos? Podrias pensar en algo mas?
Esta gente no debe ser para nosotr@s pequenhos numeros en una estadística.
