Belfast & Manchester Peace Movements on the Streets
The call for peace continues. 2500 people joined a lively
march in Manchester, soundwise supported by a Samba Band. The peace campaigners ranged from trade unionists to students, from CND to a fluffy pink tank, fom members of Manchester's Asian and middle eastern communities to members of various parties on the left, the (anti-)globalisation movement and many "Stop the War" groups that have sprung up around the city in the last few weeks. Meanwhile, also to the sound of drums 150 marched through
Belfast to an Anti-War Movement rally.
