For the 36th time since 1998 (!) 13 trade unionists from the steel factory "Forges de Clabecq" have to come to the justice court. About 200 supporters were demonstrating their support by singing.
Because they lead a hard and courageous struggle to save their factory, the justice is accusing 13 workers, using an anti-democratic law of 1886 (!).
Two earlyer trials have failed, the third one is begining today and may last some more monthes. The workers have already spend more than 2.000.000 belgian francs (about 50.000 euros) to defend themselves. All the workers of that factory linked somehow to the trade union didn't got anymore job and the members of the delagation (elected by the workers) have been excluded by the trade union.
The trade-unionists of "Clabecq" are well known because they succeeded to make their factory re-open, also because they organised a demo with 70.000, the 2nd Februari 1997 and also beacuse they fought back the police using bulldozers!
--- NOTA --- The next day of the trial could be 17th December, so if you're coming on d13, d14 or d15, considere staying some more days in Belgium to support them ---
