25 people from the theater caravane "NO BORDER NO NATION" have been arrested on july 22 on their way out of italy. after 96 hours they were brought into imprisonment on remand 2 days ago.
on july 22 2001 there have been 25 people from different countries, which participated by the NO BORDER NO NATION tour through europe, arrested on their way to leave italy. this NO BORDER NO NATION tour was ment to show in a theatralic way the protest against borders, deportation, G8, WTO,.... the tour was open to everyone who was interested and started on 26 of june in vienna (austria), went on to salzburg`s (austria)WEF meeting, then to lendava (slovenia)were a bordercamp took place, after their protest in Genua they got arrested and that´s why they can´t go to the bordercamp in frankfurt(germany).
these 25 people have been arrested 15 km away from genua. as far as we know now the police has been very brutal. after 96 hours, which is the time the police in italy can keep you in prison without any judge involved, they came into imprisonment on remand 2 days ago.
we want the imidiate release of ALL the prisoners arrested in any relation of the protests in Genua!!!
