Police left Plaza Catalunya after and the demonstrators have returned. There is still plenty of police in nearby streets, and many inside the Corte Ingles building which is on Plaza Catalunya. At the moment there are about 3000 people standing in the early evening sunshine and there is a festive mood.

The National Police have attacked the General Assembly of the Campaign Against the World Bank Barcelona 2001 which was in full meeting in the MACBA ( Barcelona Contemporary Museum of Art)
The meeting (asamblea)of the Campaign Against the World Bank Barcelona 2001, where more than 200 different organisations participated in it, was interrupted by a brutal and unwarrented police charge.The meeting (asamblea) of 150 people was debating what ought to be done this afternoon. During the debate more than 50 police in full riot gear wielding truncheons and rifles with rubber bullets (breaking one of the windows in the Square)and with shields, have invaded the Square where the MACBA is, ravaging and injuring various people who were there peacefully in a meeting.
