Une manifestante anti-nucléaire anglaise, Lyndis Percy, a été accusée de crime raciste contre le peuple américain pour avoir porté, en face d'une base américaine, un drapeau U.S. avec les mots « Stop Star Wars » peint dessus.

Wars » peint dessus. Agée de 59 ans, elle aurait également traîné le
drapeau sur le sol et aurait causé de la même occasion « de l’embarras,
ainsi qu’un sentiment d’alerte et de détresse » parmi le personnel de
la base qui sortait en voiture. Les paroles racistes sont punies par la loi britannique
depuis 1998. C’est la première fois que la justice britannique applique la loi
contre des manifestants contre la guerre. Le procès de Lyndis Percy, qui milite depuis de nombreuses

Protester Charged With "Hate Crime" (english)

Anti-Nuclear protester Lyndis Percy has been charged with a crime motivated
by "racist hatred" towards the American people for dragging a U.S.
Flag, with the words "Stop Star Wars" painted on it, in front of a
U.S. military base. Here is how you can tell the prosecution of this
ridiculous case to drop the charges. Percy is being charged by the Crown
Prosecution Service. There is a link to a comment section on the home page of
the CPS's website. Link to the CPS's site below and tell them what you think
of their stupid case against Percy. She should be given a medal, not a case
for comitting a "hate crime." Ms. Percy, 59, allegedly dragged a U.S. flag
along the ground during the protest, causing "'harassment, alarm and
distress' to U.S. personnel driving out of the base." Apparently,
under Britain's Crime and Disorder Act of 1998, "racist" speech or
actions is punishable by law. This is the first time that the law has been
applied towards anti-war protestors
