De oorspronkelijke aanklacht ging over de onrechtmatige en partijdige censuur. Christophe en Red Kitten proberen dit nu te verdoezelen door mij persoonlijk aan te vallen, omdat er geen enkele manier is waarop ze hun arbitraire censuur kunnen rechtvaardigen. Mooie poging, maar iets te doorzichtig.

RED KITTEN: "The edito team is a collective and works collectively. Nobody have to do something else than another person on the issue of administration of www.indymedia.be. If you attack one of us, you attack us all: we're acting according to the same policy."

I'm a member of the anti-globalisation movement, which also works collectively. If you dare to attack me, you attack the movement as a whole: we're acting according to the same ideals. Muhahahaaa! ( <--- this represents diabolical laughter promising impending doom on anyone standing in my way).

Well, it's a nice story, but I don't buy it. I'd like to think the editorial team is made up of several individuals who have the ability to think for themselves. In the past, it was possible for members of the edito to criticise each other. Now I'm not so sure. Do you have the guts to tell your readers how many persons have left the edito team over the past few months? I suppose you'll want to blame that on me as well?

RED KITTEN: "We happen to miss things, whatever the subject is. The point is that some things are easyer to take away because they are more obvious, some things are more urgent to take away, because the content is obvious lies or obvious racism, for example."

Once more, nice story, but not wholly believable. There are lots of examples to give where certain members of the edito team start name calling (if it's not yet been removed, look at christophe's comment above), and they were NOT censored. In addition, there were lots of personal attacks conducted in discussions where ed-team members participated, but where those attacks were aimed at the opponents of ed-team members. Again, those comments were not censored. I'd say such comments are pretty hard to 'miss' if you are participating in the discussion yourselves, wouldn't you agree? Oh, and where do you see 'obvious lies or obvious racism' in my previous comment, which was censored the first time it was posted?

RED KITTEN: "You come come to say 'you didn't hide this, you bad guys!' BUT YOU DIDN'T EVEN WARNED US! "

You just don't get it, do you? That's exactly my point: the fact that people have to notify you to remove certain comments, and other comments are removed automatically means that not everyone is treated equally. Even if we ignore this inequality, the fact remains that your censorship is far from neutral, as I have pointed out. But... I have done what you said and submitted your and Christophe's comments to the ed-team, as they are bloated with personal attacks on myself.

RED KITTEN: "We're betraying «the values of critical media-activism» ? What values ? Who are you to decide what critical media-activism is ?"

I was citing from the 'about' page on this site. I suggest you either reread those pages and change your behavior accordingly, or look for another medium. I'm not the one attacking indymedia here, you are by trying to silence all dissident voices. Maybe you should turn your finger of blame upon itself?

CHRISTOPHE: "Er zijn hier een aantal provocateurs bezig die de site wat proberen te saboteren. Geruchten posten, scheldpartijen uitlokken,... Jij doet daar gretig aan mee, Pim en ik apprecieer dat niet."

Kan je mij zeggen waar ik de site saboteer, waar ik scheldpartijen uitlok, geruchten post,...? dat zijn zware beschuldigingen dus ik hoop voor jou dat je die ook hard kan maken. Ik vrees echter dat je weinig bezwarend materiaal zal kunnen vinden.

Jij, aan de andere kant, hebt heel duidelijk je partijbelangen de bovenhand laten halen op je functie in het edito team. Er is geen enkele uitleg waarmee je je censuur kunt rechtvaardigen, en je blijft die vraag dan ook telkens uit de weg gaan. Op zich zou dit geen probleem zijn Christophe, jij bent immers ook maar een mens, en we maken allemaal fouten. Moest je echter ooit eens de moed verzamelen om je fouten eens toe te geven, misschien recht te zetten, dan zou het niet nodig zijn er steeds de aandacht op te vestigen.

CHRISTOPHE: "Ik wacht nu al twee jaar op jouw eerste artikel. Op jouw eerste bijdrage die niet bestaat uit het bekritiseren van de medewerkers van deze site. Sorry dat jouw gedrag voor mij overkopmt als parasitisme. Dat is misschien een zware term, maar het zij dan maar zo."

Wel, ik heb eens een artikel gepost, gevolgd door een reeks beschuldigingen en zwartmakerijen aan mijn adres. Dat doet echter niet veel terzake vind ik. Ik zou deze comment bvb. ook als artikel kunnen posten, maar ik vind dat we beter spaarzaam omgaan met de plaats op de frontpage. Is dat negatief?

Wij komen uit twee verschillende werelden, Christophe. Ik ben ongeveer een jaar geleden uit het klein-linkse partijmilieu gestapt, en ik ben in een wereld terechtgekomen waar kritiek en dialoog als positieve zaken gezien worden, als beginpunt om vooruitgang te boeken. Waar ik kritiek probeer te leveren om indymedia tot een open medium te waken waar meer meningen aan bod komen zien jij en Red Kitten enkel aanvallen, parasitisme,... Stel jezelf eens de vraag welk belang ik erbij heb mijn tijd te spenderen aan lange comments zoals deze. Als ik echt zou willen saboteren kan ik heel wat efficiëntere middelen bedenken.

Denk er eens over.
