ZOMERMEETING VOOR ACTIVISTEN 2

Vorig jaar in augustus organiseerden de actiegroepen
Wildgroei, Raaf en Voor Moeder Aarde een zomermeeting
voor activisten in de Bereklauw, Leuven (met behulp
van diverse andere actiegroepen zoals Lappersfront,
Vluchtelingen Actie Komitee...). Het was de bedoeling om met deze meeting een
nieuwe impuls te geven aan geweldloze directe actie in
België. Sindsdien hebben activisten uit Gent, Brugge,
Antwerpen, Brussel, Kortrijk en Leuven regelmatig
vergaderd onder de naam DAN, Directe Actie Netwerk, om
de communicatie en samenwerking tussen de
verschillende groepen te bevorderen.

Het project Raaf ontstond uit libertaire kringen van het Antwerpse. Aan het begin van de jaren negentig werden enkele mensen actief rond het anarchistische actieblad de Nar, nadat het een tijd erg stil was geweest rond alles wat links en anti-autoritair was. Ook ontstonden er sindsdien een aantal kraakgroepen en vonden radicale fietsacties plaats. Raaf werd enkele jaren geleden opgericht om meer organisatie in het geheel te krijgen. Het educatieve aspect kwam o.a. naar voor in studiegroepsessies, discussies en informatieverspreiding. En eindigde met een groots opgezet kraakproject en een boel e-mailadressen @raaf.be. Hierna ontstonden allerlei andere nieuwe en gelijkaardige projecten in het Antwerpse, die op de komende zomermeeting belicht zullen worden.
Het project van Werkgroep Wildgroei was en is te werken aan een andere economie : minder autoverkeer, minder containers, kortom minder nieuwe infrastuctuurwerken en een einde maken aan de groeieconomie. Met directe geweldloze acties, studiegroepen en publicaties werden pogingen ondernomen om het groeidenken te counteren. Men was actief rond de havenuitbreiding in Doel, de verlenging van de kleine Ring rond Antwerpen, in een Oostvlaamse kanaalzone, etc. Op een paar jaar tijd slaagde men er in een honderdtal mensen te betrekken bij dit project, waarna men een basis legde voor de Zomermeetings van activisten van vorig en dit jaar.
Voor Moeder Aarde werd vooral bekend als anti-militaristische organisatie, die zich de laatste tijd actief verzet tegen onrechtvaardige situaties in Irak en elders, en nu o.a. de volgende Bomspotting-dag voorbereidt.

Directe Actie Netwerk ?

Nu kunnen we met blijdschap aankondigen dat er een
tweede editie van deze zomermeeting zal plaatsvinden!
Naast de elementaire workshops over
blokkadetechnieken, professioneel boomklimmen,
adbusting, enz... willen we dit jaar ook nieuwe
workshops houden over kunst-activisme, encryptie van
e-mails, het nieuwe anti-oorlogsactivisme...

Naast de workshops zal er ook een korte voorstelling
zijn van de aanwezige actiegroepen (dit jaar uiteraard
ook Patdagach), vegetarisch/veganistisch eten aan
democratische prijzen, filmvoorstellingen...
Dit alles op de gezellige biologische boerderij De
Bereklauw, nabij Leuven (België).

Dus als je geïnteresserd bent in ecologische of
sociale directe actie, zeker komen!

SUMMER MEETING FOR ACTIVISTS 2
Friday 5th to Sunday 7th September 2003

Last year in August, the action groups Wildgroei, Raaf
and For Mother Earth organized a summer meeting at the
Bereklauw, Leuven (with the help of diverse action
groups, such as Lappersfront, VAK…). The purpose of
the meeting was to give a new impulse to non-violent
direct action in Belgium.
Since then, activists from Antwerpen, Gent, Brussels,
Brugge, Leuven and Kortrijk have met under the name of
DAN, Direct Action Network, in order to have a better
cooperation between the different action groups.

Now, we are glad to announce that there will be a
second edition of this event! Next to the basic
workshops on blockade techniques, professional tree
climbing, adbusting, and much more… we want to present
new workshops on art activism, encrypting of e-mails,
simple website management, the new anti-war activism…

So if you are interested in social or ecological
direct actions, make sure you're there!

Du vendredi 5 au dimanche 7 septembre à Louvain
(Bereklauw)

A l'attention de tous ceux qui sont intéressés par
l'action sociale et environnementale !

Pour la 2ème année consécutive, nous avons le plaisir
de vous inviter à nous rejoindre à la réunion estivale des activistes belges.
Trois jours pour vous perfectionner aux techniques classiques (ateliers sur les techniques de
blocage, escalade professionnelle d'arbres, adbusting,
etc), vous initier à de nouveaux ateliers : l'art activism, le cryptage des courriels, gestion
basique de sites internet, activisme anti-guerre , et

L'an dernier, les groupes Wildgroei, Raaf et For
Mother Earth ont pris l'initiative d' organiser une réunion d'été avec l'aide de divers groupes
d'action comme le Lappersfront, ou le VAK*, afin
d'insufler une nouvelle énergie à l'action directe non violente en Belgique.
Depuis lors des activistes de Flandre et de Bruxelles
se sont retrouvés sous le nom de DAN, Direct Action Network, afin de mieux se coordonner.

Kokkerellen préparera des repas végétariens et
végétaliens à un prix démocratique, il y aura une soirée vidéo, et une présentation des projets
par les groupes. Tout ceci dans un cadre trés agéable
puisque nous retournons à la ferme bio de Bereklauw, près de Louvain.
