The DHKC (Revolutionary People's Liberation Front) from Turkey issues a statement claiming responsibility for bomb attacks in Istanbul, Turkey on April 15 in which McDonalds restaurants and a recreational establishment for judges were targeted.

Date: April 16, 2003 Statement: 299

To Oppose The Occupation of Iraq, Complicity And The Massacre In The F-Type Prisons;
we bombed American institutions as well as an institution which belongs to the Ministry of Justice
in order to warn the government!

THE AKP GOVERNMENT IS AN ACCOMPLICE IN THE OCCUPATION IN IRAQ AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MASSACRE IN THE F-TYPES!

On April 15, 2003, our fighters bombed and destroyed McDonalds restaurants in the Istanbul districts of PENDIK and SIRKECI as well as a RECREATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT FOR JUDGES in Istanbul, after giving warnings so they were evacuated.
We carried out these actions to demand a reckoning from America and the collaborationist government for the massacres in Iraq and in our country.
Our land is a neo-colony of America.
That is why the governments in our country are collaborators with America. Even in times when they have contradictions with America for various reasons, they serve the USA.
Also, the AKP government is guilty of the massacres and the occupation of Iraq.
The AKP government, which is an accomplice in the Iraq massacre, is directly responsible for months of massacres in the F-Type Prisons.
The F-Types are a result of collaboration with imperialism.
To prevent anyone standing up to the exploitation, plunder and destruction of imperialism, the patriots and revolutionaries in our country are being massacred in the F-Type Prisons.
Never in history has there been a case where a reckoning from tyranny was not demanded.
Of course, those who occupied Iraq, who were accomplices in its occupation and who killed 106 of our people in the F-Types, in Armutlu and in the slum areas will have to give a reckoning as well.
Anyway, our actions should be understood as a “warning”, not as the reckoning.

AMERICANS! Leave our country! GO AWAY and take your bases, monopolies, restaurants, soldiers and advisors with you.

AKP GOVERNMENT! Remove the isolation! You won’t achieve anything through silence and ignorance. All you will reap is greater anger and a stronger desire to demand a reckoning.

OUR PEOPLE! In order to not harm anybody with our actions, we aimed to cause damage to the buildings and were successful in that. So a warning was given after the bombs were planted in order to have the buildings evacuated, and the bombs only exploded after that.
To avoid anything unwanted happening, stay away from American restaurants and from buildings which are camouflaged as “Cultural Centres”. Stay away from all American institutions!

OUR PEOPLE!
This appeal is not just made because of “our actions against these institutions”, but should be understood as an appeal to take a stand against America in all areas of life.
First of all, you shouldn’t buy American goods!
With the boycott and all other possible forms of actions, you should take a stand against America, because of its massacre in Iraq and its attempt to make the whole world surrender by threatening it with bombing!

THE RESISTANCE AND THE STRUGGLE AGAINST THE OCCUPATION AND TYRANNY WILL CONTINUE!
ISOLATION IS DEATH THROUGH TORTURE AND CANNOT BE ACCEPTED!
