Threat of killing on peace activists from US Air base.

Vandenberg Air Force Base, home of the 30th Space Wing, authorises 'Deadly force' against trespassers.

Some US activists near the Vanderberg Air base threatened to try to trespass on the base, and to interrupt war operations and vandalise war material. The answer from the base officials were that "the military police may shoot to kill if necessary, in order to protect the base residents or facilities".
This is supposed not to be new. But, living in a post 911 world, the officers want to take no risks.
"How can you make the difference between a demonstrator and a terrorist? Some terrorists could hide themselves within the demonstrators' group. Deadly force can be used when lesser means of force aren't feasible or have failed, and to protect assets designated as vital to the national security", said a spokesperson for the base.
