Human Shield Mission...

Many people today find themselves in a continual state of powerlessness, induced by corrupt governments that do not represent us and fear that paralyzes us. Even in so-called democracies we all too often do not initiate the war policies of our governments yet we are doomed to reap the violent results of these policies. Many of us see ourselves as pawns in a game that pits us against others completely against our will. Accordingly, many of us realize that our politicians are not willing or capable of stopping this, furthermore many if not most of these same politicians are active participants in the global injustice that threatens us all. In this sense we are all victims of governments serving selfish agendas at the expense of the majority. In the West, many of us realize that our "prosperity" has been other peoples oppression. So either we relegate ourselves to powerlessness and complicity in oppression… or we act.
For those willing to act we invite you to participate in the ‘We the People' Justice & Peace mission to Iraq. This action will originate at the beginning of the New Year in London with a bus and other vehicles carrying Western peoples and others demanding a peaceful world to our destination of Iraq. Our mission is to demand a sane and peaceful resolution to the pending war in the Middle East and to act as human shields in defense of a thoroughly violated Iraqi population. Should this mission achieve its full potential we will have a convoy of people from varied nations with enough bodies to potentially prevent a seemingly inevitable massacre of innocent people.
The sad truth is that our world imparts greater value on Western life (generally white lives) than the rest of humanity. Case in point, the September 11 attacks that killed nearly three thousand American's. Tragic as this day surely was, when compared to other historical events such as the U.S. lead sanctions in Iraq that have killed at least 500,000 children, we must concede that humanity has adopted a massive double standard with regard to the value of human life. Understanding this fact illustrates the power we in the West have, if we want to stop this war and all wars soon to be carried out in our name all we must do is act. If you are ready to act than make plans now to join us in London or cities to be announced in Europe on our mission to stop the insanity.
For those who wish to support this mission but not able to join us than you can support this effort by helping to fund the expenses of conducting this journey. Specifically if you are willing to provide money or vehicles for this trip you are urged to contact the Universal Kinship Society and this writer immediately. For American citizens, you can reduce your Federal Income Tax payment (and support for the world's largest military budget) by supplying the non-profit tax exempt Universal Kinship Society for its organizational role in this mission. Or you can anonymously support this cause if you wish to protect your privacy.
On a personal note, I am a former U.S. Marine who participated in the first Gulf War, I bear the guilt of this action and I feel I must personally apologize to the Iraqi people. I am also potentially a victim of the same Depleted Uranium that the U.S. used in Iraq and I want to document the well known effects of this horrendous weapon. A weapon that destroys our environment and kills for generations to come. For myself I will be paying a small penance for my previous ignorance as a U.S. Marine and I do not see this as noble, I see it as the very least I can do. I only hope that it will serve as a source of strength and comfort for a population of people who must feel abandoned and rightfully angry. I also hope to help prove that many of us in the prosperous West do not support Bush or anyone who supports imperialist wars.
For those of us about to embark on this mission, we ask that all those concerned for our world and the future of our children to support this effort in every way that you can. All the money will be used to increase our numbers and decrease the chances of a human catastrophe. In return we will put our bodies on the line and objectively document and report the events of war as they occur. But in all honesty it is our belief that ‘We the People' can in fact stop this madness that is so dominant in our world today, beginning in Iraq, and continuing until we stop all such madness.
Sincerely,
Ken Nichols O'Keefe – Founder Universal Kinship Society

Our Pledge as Participants in this Mission
‘We the People' remember our 20th Century as the bloodiest century in history, and are fully aware that the 21st Century is threatening to be even bloodier.
‘We the People' acknowledge that Saddam Hussein has the capacity to kill perhaps thousands while George W. Bush has the means to destroy our entire world thousands of times over. As thinking people we see the obvious, George W. Bush is far more of a threat to world peace than Saddam Hussein.
‘We the People' do not forget the vital U.S. support that helped bring Saddam Hussein to power and further remember the direct U.S. support before, during and after his use of chemical weapons (WMD probably supplied by the U.S.) against the Kurdish people.
‘We the People' reject George W. Bush and his "Pre-emptive" doctrine as sheer madness that insures the bloody cycle of violence so necessary for the existence of the greedy and sadistic interests he represents. We acknowledge this man as the most dangerous man of the 21st Century.
‘We the People' acknowledge the United States declaring its willingness to use nuclear weapons as proof positive that the U.S. is undeniably the most powerful and dangerous nation in the history of our world.
‘We the People,' those who genuinely seek justice and peace acknowledge that all nations must ultimately disarm, and that the United States is logically and necessarily the first nation that must disarm.
‘We the People' acknowledge the silence and/or complicity with U.S. war policies by our governments around the world as wholly unrepresentative and completely unacceptable. "Not In Our Name" expresses our position with regard to the upcoming international crime of ‘Aggression' likely to be committed against an already horribly violated Iraqi people.
‘We the People' see any and all nation/state governments that support the Bush junta for what they are, cowards and criminals who are complicit in a highly profitable oil induced launch into World War III.
‘We the People' refuse to sit idly by while the so-called "United Nations" provides "legal" sanction for wars that it is mandated by law to prevent.
‘We the People,' mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, brothers and sisters stand in solidarity with all those in the human family who renounce war and embrace peace.
‘We the People' declare that we would rather die as participants in defense of justice and peace than live as disempowered human sheep blindly marching to our very own slaughter.
‘We the People' acknowledge oppression in all its forms as the primary root of all violencem, especially so-called "terrorism."
‘We the People,' those who genuinely seek justice and peace, understand the people of the world need "Food Not Bombs," Justice Not Tyranny, Peace Not War.
‘We the People' declare our allegiance to our human family and to the planet that provides the basis of our very existence. We are ‘World Citizens' and declare ourselves as such before the law as mandated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

'Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,…' – Universal Declaration of Human Rights - Preamble
