OHMS MEDIA COLLECTIVE

They skirt the issues that effect the livelihood of people & communities here at home and around the world. Leaving out important facts, turning the news into a watered down version of what is really happening each and every day.

Sure there are two sides to a story, but aren't you tired of hearing "McTV's" side of it? Media is on a short leash controlled by their corporate owners and sponsors. The truth is suffocating. Even our beloved media treasure, Public Broadcast System (PBS) has succumbed to the evil wrath of the corporate world.

Sadly, it is the audience who suffers. Because of this lack of information people have become more apathetic and disenfranchised about corporate or political corruption, the environment, labor conditions & the people who make the policies that relate to these issues. (In other words our (s)elected government (mis)representatives). Some think this is because people don't care, we think this is because people don't know! This is where OHMS steps in.

We at OHMS are fed up with the floundering; seemingly ignorant, biased, shallow, & empty minded mainstream media. Today, we unite with the Independent Media Revolution that has been sparked from this frustration. At the core of OHMS is a collective of documentarians. This is a fancy label for people who have picked up video cameras and decided to investigate the world and tell their stories. Video makers who sneak through the cracks, go behind enemy lines and infiltrate the system
to give it a new perspective and to show the world what's up.

OHMS is the measurement of electrical resistance. We feel people can be measurements of resistance, through their actions, challenging the system and seeking change. To resist the mainstream media and allow the currents truth to flow.

In the spirit of do it yourself. OHMS is simply a collective of people making their own media. You, too, can be part of OHMS. Be part of our collective, be a media activist, it's time to start Opening Human Minds everywhere.
