MASS DEPORTATION OF REFUGEES FROM MONTENEGRO THIS MORNING IN LUXEMBOURG
Tuesday, 5 November 2002
Early this morning, luxembourgish police proceeded at a forced expulsion action concerning around 30 refugees from Montenegro. The refugees, among them at least 10 people under 18, have been forced to leave their asylums for refugees in 4 different luxembourgish neighborhoods at around 6 in the morning. They have been escorted by the police to the national airport at Findel and forced to take a charter machine to Podgorica, capital of Montenegro. No press and public was allowed to get in contact with the refugees. This action has been severly criticised by the president of ASTI - the association for solidarity with the imigrated workers and declared this deportation as illegal.
