The European Social Consulta is a mechanism for generating grassroots alternatives to capitalist globalization and transforming society through a sustained process of locally-driven discussion, debate and action coordinated at the European level around a variety of issues. More than a Consulta in the traditional sense, the project might better be described as "European Alternative Social Construction," involving a European-wide network of grassroots assemblies that generate ideas and alternatives, some of which may lead to mass-based consultas, while others to specific actions or other forms of sustained political activity.

The process is entirely open and democratic, from beginning to end. For this reason, we are asking all European-based social movements, networks, collectives and organizations that oppose capitalist globalization to take part in designing the project's form and content, a process we call the "Internal Consulta." In order to do this, we have created a mechanism called the "Guide to the Internal Consulta," which contains all the necessary information to participate in the project. In addition to a general introduction, the Guide presents a description of each of the project phases, with a series of questions designed to elicit your responses and ideas. This process will culminate in a First European Social Consulta Gathering early next year, where we will bring together our ideas and generate a broad consensus around the final ESC project design.

The document is long, but we think it deserves your attention. Please take the time to read it (See link above or text below) and discuss the questions with your organizations and collectives.

Responses to teh guide should be sent to: ci@consultaeuropea.org

For general questions, send message to: eng@consultaeuropea.org,

Looking forward to your responses!
