Ghosts Surround You as the World Watches

An Open Letter to George Bush from America's Youth

Dear George:

At this critical juncture in human culture, you must realize the role you have chosen to play is fraught with danger, both personal and planetary. You cannot say that the American people chose the role of President for you, since the majority of voters elected your opponent, Al Gore.

We have no illusions anymore that America is a democracy. Your regime has made the military rule of our country clear as bulletproof glass. Do not mistake our silence for complacency, however. We have you surrounded, and we are watching. You will not escape justice, nor will your associates. A war criminal is a war criminal, no matter how much patriotic propaganda you wrap around them.

We have the truth on our side, what have you on yours? More weapons, more deadly explosions, more contagious germs, rampant terrorism, cover-ups, shredded papers, lies and more lies. Let's let the little secret out of the bag, George. The rest of the world already knows your daddy's "Company," the CIA, is not known for truth-telling. Their business has been organizing terrorist activities to facilitate exploitation and weapons sales, and hiding covert wars from US taxpayers. Unfortunately for you, millions of us have actually been watching and paying attention.

You have gotten a glimpse of what your fate will be if you and your CIA family are found, in any way, to be culpable for the World Trade Center bombings, even if it's only that you ALLOWED it to happen. You will be one of the most despised and cursed men in history, along with your grandfather's friends, the Third Reich. You will be on the dock alongside Uncle Dick, Henry Kissinger, and your daddy. Justice does not sleep, George. It is coming for you. No amount of bombing, spreading of germs, deploying of stormtroopers will stop it. Didn't your Skull-and-Bones elitists learn anything from Hitler's experience?

Oh yes, you did. That's right. A kinder, gentler fascism. Homeland security, sponsored by McDonalds. Mass-murder weapons masked as "daisy-cutters." Beautiful actors posing as CIA agents on TV. Make the assassinations exciting and trendy, even fashionable. Sell it as a game, a push of the button for instant status. "An Army of One." Yeah, right.

You and your ultra-conservative cronies have grossly underestimated the intelligence and rebellion that surrounds you. Now you are leading our country, and our world into HELL, mistaking your fate for ours. You have endangered all of us by seizing power the way you did, with your careless and callous foreign policies. We can safely say that if your Skull-and-Bones buddies had allowed the US election to be determined as a democracy, we would not now be on the edge of a global war. But this is what they wanted, what they always want, isn't it? That's where the REAL profits lie, don't they George?

Your family, its "Company," and their "Order" can try to cover-up the millions of dead in developing countries invaded by the CIA, the secret "weaponized" microbes injected into soldiers, the billions of dollars worth of drug-running, the policies of genocide against native peoples, and your secret "Space War" without any oversight, but you'll never escape our probing minds. Not only have you underestimated our intelligence and determination, you don't really understand the power of human potential. We see you while you are sleeping, we can read your mind, we see right through you.

We aren't just fringe-dwellers and misfits, either. We are veterans of your wars, college professors, your limo drivers and police officers. We are firefighters who have lost our friends, mothers who have lost children, former CIA agents and military officers. We are computer hackers, recording artists, and film stars. We are the future, after you have been exposed, George.

Make it easy on yourself. Come out with the truth. Spill the beans on the old man, let Uncle Dick take his lumps. We'll forgive you as a patsy, and if the Skull-and-Bones boys take you out, well, at least you'll die a martyr's death. You have a chance to save the world from global nuclear war, environmental catastrophe, and rampant poverty. Only the truth will set you free, George. Further lies and terror will only dig you deeper into Hell.

We see you squirming and sweating under the strain of deception. We see your family's accounts being broken open, the war machine under scrutiny, the CIA being called up on the global carpet. All the bombing in the world won't stop history's inquiring eyes. Give it up, George. After all, you're not REALLY an elected President, and you've already ruined your chances of ever being elected, by your regime's clumsy cover-ups.

Enjoy your brief time in the sun. How the light turns all skin brown....

Sincerely,

Friday Addams &

The Bush People Know How to Run and Hide
Marie Cocco | Newsday
Tuesday, 20 May, 2002

In all the verbiage that has rained down since word leaked that President George W. Bush was warned that Osama bin Laden's crew might hijack a plane and strike at the United States, two words count: "No warnings."

That is what White House spokesman Ari Fleischer told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sept. 11. He said it as the flames from the World Trade Center and the Pentagon lit the sky and the office workers and firefighters and deli-counter men were buried beneath the molten steel.

It was a lie.

We now know, by the administration's own account, that for at least five months before the terror attack, the intelligence community was in an anxious tizzy over an impending attack it believed would be "really spectacular," in the words of one official who briefed the White House.

Since word leaked about the infamous memo Bush received on Aug. 6, the White House has spun another web of lies. Fleischer and others insisted last week that no one had ever considered the possibility of anything other than a "traditional" hijacking. In fact the idea that terrorists would plow a plane into a symbolic structure had long been discussed. This precise topic was developed from terrorist prosecutions here and abroad. You did not need a confidential FBI memo to know this. The newspaper would have sufficed.

Now there is an unnerving shadow that will follow Bush through his presidency. It is not, necessarily, that the president could have done more to thwart the calamitous plot. Who knows what was, or wasn't, possible? Everyone's failures - at the White House, the FBI, the CIA, the FAA - will be sorted out soon enough.

But Bush lied to us, and covered up. He tries, still, to keep everything under wraps, doggedly seeking to prevent even congressional intelligence committees from seeing the memo. Vice President Dick Cheney, when he isn't impugning the patriotism of duly elected officials, wants to hand-pick those committee members worthy enough, in his view, to "have a conversation" about the memo. But not to read it.

This is their way. Bad news is supposed to result in no news. And no news is better than the informed consent of the governed.

We had fair notice. During the presidential campaign, when concerns that Bush might have used drugs during his party-boy days were raised, he did not come clean, one way or the other. He initiated a bizarre dance with reporters, two-stepping about whether he could pass a routine background check for federal employees. Could he pass if the check went back 15 years, or just seven?

When the campaign knew it had to confront Bush's history of excessive drinking, it spun a tale of decline and redemption, focusing on its man's forthright decision, after a 40th-birthday bash, to sober up. It left out the part about a drunk-driving arrest at age 30. That came to light only when the press dug it up on the eve of the election.

It is impossible to keep an up-to-date count of topics the administration wants neither Congress nor the people to know about. The tally grows.

It doesn't want us to know about its meetings with energy-industry lobbyists who helped write the energy policy. Nor the names of those it has detained since Sept. 11, or the charges against them. Nor to get historical papers from the long-departed Reagan administration, despite a law requiring their release.

The president's men say they want to restore the prestige of the presidency, eroded after years of congressional pestering. This high-minded philosophy they apply only to themselves.

The very same officials had no problem releasing to Congress e-mails from the Clinton White House. They handed over thousands of pages of documents relating to pardons, though the power to pardon is the president's alone and not subject to congressional oversight. They released verbatim transcripts of former President Bill Clinton's phone conversations with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, waiving the "state secret" privilege to do so.

But now it is wartime and we must keep secrets and you must trust us, administration officials keep saying. Trouble is, they've broken the trust.

Confidential Memo from Kenny Boy to Georgie Boy: "Welcome to the club!"
By Bernard Weiner
Tuesday, 20 May, 2002

Dear Georgie:
I thought I was the only guy facing a political/ethical firing squad. But you have topped me, my lad. The "I" word is beginning to be brought out of mothballs. Unless something major happens (another terrorist attack would help out a lot), you're about to join Bubba in the impeachment well.

When Enron went South and the press sharks came out to taste the blood, I just had to eat the bad publicity, declare bankruptcy, hunker down and try to ride it out. (So far, it's working; nobody's even asked me lately about Enron's connection to the oil pipeline now planned to go through Afghanistan to our dormant plant in India.)

You, my friend, are in a somewhat different position. I know you're trying to find a hunker place, but I'm afraid, given your rather lonely position at the top, there's really no place for you to hunk. And there are too many folks wanting your head -- on a plate -- and they're not all Democrats.

Sorry to say it, Georgie, but you have blown this 9/11 thing badly. Welcome to the club! The bullyboy tactics we've both used took us a long way and made us a lot of money, but we also had to run over a lot of people, friends and foes, on the climb to the top, and a good many of them aren't a bit sorry about the daggers being aimed our way by our enemies.

If I could publicly speak on your behalf -- if that would help and not hurt -- you know that I would. I'll forget your pretending that you aren't quite sure who I am: I know how the game has to be played. I know that if anything happens to me legally, you'll be there in the end with a presidential pardon. That's how the game is played, too. I give you scratch, you scratch my back. (Needless to say, after the private courier presents you this letter, read it and burn it -- DON'T SHRED IT!)

But, despite our similar circumstances, I can wiggle out of my tight spot, given enough time. But you -- you have real problems. I'm talking about the 9/11 coverup; you blew that one big time.

It seems the lawyers and press (you really need to take care of that Rather guy, teach him and the other journalists a good lesson) are starting to piece together the dots. You believed that you'd never get caught, that you could browbeat or frighten your would-be critics into averting their eyes -- a stance with which I'm certainly familiar -- but these beliefs meant that you weren't as careful in covering your tracks as you should have been. (Besides, how long did you think it would take before Daschle and Gephardt revealed that you and Dick had asked them to stay away from investigating pre-9/11 matters? The implication is not pretty.)

Having key members of the Cabinet abandon flying by commercial airliners in July of 2001 makes it appear, in retrospect, that you and they knew something about the upcoming use of hijacked commerical jets as possible terrorist weapons long before you chose to share that information with others. Now you say that you learned what was about to go down only in August of 2001, which certainly suggests that since the others, including key senators, knew in July, either you're lying or you weren't in charge and that whoever was in charge wasn't providing you key information. Not good, Georgie. Whether the pitcher hits the stone or the stone hits the pitcher, it ain't good for the pitcher.

Intelligence officials in France and Israel and the Philippines and Malaysia and here in this country had been talking for years about thwarted attempts by terrorists to use jetliners as weapons against icon structures (Eiffel Tower, et al.), our own intelligence commissions and CIA had warned of such impending attacks -- so your blaming the debacle on the lack of CIA/FBI sharing of information again means either you and your staff are incompetent or lying. Pitcher/stone again. Not good.

No, it's clear to me that you did what we all did: you had insider information and you used it to your advantage. (The same for those who bought all those put options on United and American airlines stocks in the days prior to 9/11. That's a hard one to explain away.) I commend you for it, but worry about the public-relations flap of not covering your backside more intelligently.

Your biggest problem is not the inevitable Democrat brouhaha about all this. Americans expect such partisanship. It's the fact that 4000 people died, and a lot of their relatives and other concerned citizens are middle-of-the-road ordinary Americans, conservatives and liberals, and they are angry and looking for someone to blame. Guess what? You're it. (And I'm it in the energy area.)

You can try to ride it out with bravado, blaming "partisan politics" and so on -- Dick's really good at that; you aren't so good, even coming across as so out-of-control the other day in your rambling discourse that journalists thought maybe you were coming mentally unglued or maybe had tipped the old bottle. But I don't think you'll be able to stem the rising demand for a full investigation. (Is that why Karen Hughes left so suddenly? She smelled what was about to make contact with the fan and got out while the getting was good?)

My advice would be to get in front of the story. 1) Get all the facts out -- everything, even the July Phoenix FBI memo warning about terrorists enrolling in U.S. flight schools, and the August Minneapolis FBI memo about the arrest of Massoui for suspicious behavior at a flight school -- and blame "the system" for failing to connect all the dots. Don't make it look like you're trying to hide anything.

2) There will be another terrorist attack as Al Qaeda regroups, or something like it can be "anticipated," if you get my drift. Be ready to move, a la 9/11; have plans ready to clamp down harder on dissent (those who question your tactics are supporting the terrorists, etc.), the press, Congress' asking embarrassing questions. Re-ratchet up the "war on terrorism" rhetoric, "homeland defense," "national security," and so on; put the Dems on the patriotic-silence routine. It's worked before and it's worth a try now, even though the American public is not as gullible as it once was.

The move for impeachment will proceed in the country and the Congress, but you might be able to slow its growth prior to the upcoming elections, as citizens rally around our "wartime President," and possibly even slow down the Democrat election victory in Congress that seems just around the corner.

If you resign or are forced out, Dick becomes President (unless he's impeached, too) and things can proceed as normal. If that happens, Dick has to make sure IMMEDIATELY to appoint a Vice President of our business-friendly frame of mind. We don't want to risk Daschle or Gephardt or, God forbid, Colin Powell becoming President if anything should befall Dick of the damaged heart.

As I'm sure you and your father realize, we're playing for Big Stakes here. Not just money, although that's always a big one, but staying in control of the agenda and the goodie- and power-dispensary. You lose the momentum, and those controlling, taxing Democrats get back in, and we're all in deep doodoo.

So, Georgie Boy, I seriously recommend that you come up with something to get these impeachment-fodder stories off the front pages and leading the evening news -- dump all the documents into Congress' lap while you spin the "it's-the-system-that's-responsible" line, heat up Kashmir, stoke up the Palestinian war, invite another good old terrorist event in the U.S., and stop pussyfooting around with your/our domestic enemies. Sic 'em, boy. Bite them before they get anywhere near your jugular.

America the Spineless & Murderous: An Open Letter from Canada

Dear America:

And so it has come to this. Your once great nation has fallen into madness, an affliction of mass denial that brings shivers up the spines of millions outside your borders. Yours is a sick nation. But most of you carry on as though nothing at all is the matter.

Dark, evil operations run rampant in the secret corners of your government institutions. An illegally constituted government pursues war at will anywhere on earth, discussing nuclear options that become points for cheerful chatter over lunch. Your military and intelligence agencies employ terrorist tactics around the globe even as they insist that such tactics are necessary in the fight against terrorism.

You have become a nation of monsters, America. Hypocrites. Murderers. Fools.

Your constitution is a shambles thanks to national security measures resulting from what might well be U.S.-government-sponsored terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington D.C., covert provocations designed to justify a malevolent, poisonous, oil-based military economy.

Never mind that earth-friendly technology already exists to once and for all end dependence on oil, coal and nuclear energy from huge, out-of-control utilities and corporations. You would rather pay through the nose for your insecure comforts, wouldn't you America ? and make others pay with their blood.

At the same time, you stand by as the Israel?s secular Zionists ? whom you support through the supply of arms and money -- slaughter untold numbers of innocents in the West Bank, then blame the Palestinians for bringing the terror upon them selves. True, there are terrible Arab suicide bombers in Israel?s midst. But are they not driven to madness and desperation by your infernal support of international terrorist politics?

As I write these words, you support a nation run by a convicted murderer who with impunity is carrying out war crimes as cruel and horrendous as those of other sadistic tyrants in history. And you say, in your utter cynicism, when will these Palestinians bring this war to an end?

You recklessly wage combat on other fronts, too. At home, your War on Drugs is a disastrous 30-year folly -- a gigantic con game designed to benefit lethal cartels, corrupt politicians and menacing intelligence agencies across the planet.

Meanwhile, military tanker jets daily spray massive quantities of unknown chemicals into the skies above your cities without your population?s consent, and most of you do not even have the wherewithal to look up. Those who do and who voice their outrage hear only a deafening silence from your congress and your tax-supported health agencies. Some Americans have too active imaginations, yes? Best treat them with mind-numbing prescription drugs, and try to forget that the awful side effects number in the thousands.

Indeed, those who your government appoints to oversee your safety and security laugh in your faces. With your government?s support, crooked multinationals like Monsanto buy up the world?s water supplies, and take possession of the world?s vegetation through Frankenstein technology already known to cause illness.

Does the FDA care about any of this? Hell no. It?s long been on the bandwagon to foist genetically altered food on the Guinea Pigs of the country -- including every man, woman and child on America?s increasingly toxic soil.

You are a nation of suckers, America, to be bled dry of your hard-earned pay through outrageous bank schemes, Wall Street rip offs and fake government budget grabs. Your Pentagon cannot account for trillions in lost dollars. Does this bother you? Not in the least.

Your whole economy is controlled by what is for the most part ravenous, international private banking interests in the form of The Federal Reserve, which with your government?s consent leads you down the garden path to irrecoverable debt and certain financial ruin.

Is this worth thinking about? When?s the football game on?

These very same money men are the ones who, through unmonitored and unrepresentative world committees, are driving countries like Argentina into hopeless debt and social upheaval. These greedy overlords are creating strife and suffering on a scale too tragic for words in nation after nation. Just look at Africa.

They?ve got their sites on America, now, too; disrupting economic stability through so-called free trade initiatives and provisions for special favors and the endless flow of cash to corporate monstrosities like Enron.

For the most part, your congressional representatives are nothing but swine gathering at the corporate troughs. Your president is a creep and a thug, a hypocrite who through his actions celebrates war, repression and greed even as he gives lip service to peace, freedom and justice.

George W. Bush hoodwinks you daily, the coward hiding behind a phony patriotism. He is an Enron buddy boy, a spoiled child lying in his teeth about his past and current dirty deeds. Does he care about you America? Hardly. This is altogether obvious to those outside your borders who are politically aware and awake to the world around them.

You were never concerned about the disgraceful practices of George's ruthless father, either, a Bin-Laden cohort and friend to criminals and killers in global drug, oil and terrorist enterprises. Iran. Vietnam. El Salvador. Chile. Guatemala. Iraq. And on and on. The never-ending bully-boy story of blood, guns, drugs and money.

Does any of this matter? Not really. Go get your ten-billionth burger America. Fatten your already fat asses with bacteria-and-hormone-ridden meat and do nothing as you sit stupefied before your mind-numbing television sets awaiting the next episode of sad families being humiliated on Cops.

Few among you are the least bit concerned that no real investigation of 911 has taken place, that no serious investigation of the anthrax attacks is moving forward, that no authentic investigation of Enron, or the murder of one of its top executives, is underway.

How many of you give the slightest damn about the totalitarian measures your government is taking to keep its secret meetings, grubby files and treasonous activities from your eyes? You look the other way as your own honest citizens rise up against those within your nation who gassed innocent children to death at Wako, hid evidence in the TWA 800 air disaster and rubbed elbows with foreign terrorists in Oklahoma City.

When did you stop caring America? Was it after your own CIA and FBI plotted the murder of President John F. Kennedy? Or is this just the raving lunacy of the conspiracy nut? What does your gut tell you America? Is something a little amiss here?

Forget about it. Have some Pepto-Bismal.

Today, in futility, your own government goes to court against itself for information you are entitled to by law. But this is hardly deemed vital news in the community. It is a fleeting reference in an electronic sea of meaningless banter. For proof, just look to all the spineless whores who constitute your mainstream news media.

Today, you excoriate, ridicule and ostracize the brave and true among you. Your best investigative journalists are fired from their jobs and ignored. Congress?s few courageous souls are laughed at and dismissed out of hand. The most honest and conscientious political leader in the country, Ralph Nader, is a powerless, near invisible curiosity easily side-lined by hired goons.

America, you are a goddamn shame.

What law matters now in your despicable state? What justice? What truth? When will you wake up? If you had your druthers, you would right now gather your courage, take to the streets and march on Washington D.C in the millions. But I know you will do no such thing. The vast majority of you are spiritually, emotionally and intellectually dead.

You consume. You eat. You shit. And that?s just about it.

As I write these words in Spring of 2002, I can only imagine what additional horrors your shadow government might be planning in what will surely be an attempt to justify militarism and totalitarianism on a universal scale. A nuclear explosion in one of your cities perhaps? A massive bio-chemical attack?

Or perhaps it will be some Arab terrorist who does the great and terrible deed, his last thought before death being the promises you made to him before killing his family.

Sincerely, Robert McDougall A Canadian
