Op zaterdag 2 februari om 5u30 hebben 25 mensen op initiatief van het Vluchtelingen Aktie Komitee aan de Refuge in Brugge geprotesteerd tegen de uitwijzing van Tisaak Rabbin, een Kameroenese asielzoeker, die om 09u00 is uitgewezen naar Douala.

De bedoeling van de aktie was het aanklagen van het feit dat een vluchteling die bij een vorige uitwijzingspoging (zie getuigenis) zwaar is aangepakt en die een klacht naar de liga van de rechten van de mens heeft gezonden, nu uitgewezen wordt zonder dat zijn klacht onderzocht is. Een echte democratie zou eerst de klacht laten behandeld hebben en niet de vluchteling uitwijzen voordat de klacht onderzocht is. Bovendien is de week voordien de enige getuige van de mishandelingen (nicolas) ook uitgewezen.
Het was ook de bedoeling om de politie en Tisaak zelf te laten weten dat er mensen zijn die wel bezorgd zijn om hem.

Hieronder vindt u wat meer uitleg over deze vorige uitwijzingspoging (in het engels aangezien hij het ons zo vertelt heeft):
"On the 16th of December they took Tisaak Rabbin Abinwi and Nicholas Ambe to the airport.
They took them (together with another girl) to the plain. Rabbin was handcuffed with his hands behind his back (they handcuffed him in the office and he was still handcuffed when they put him on the plane).
First, they went from the centre to the car and then to a small room. There they started hitting on him. He struggled and cut the chain of one of the officers. After that he (the officer) got really violent. There were 8 officers.
They said that he must go back. But he refused because his lawyer had made an appeal. They sprained his thumb (he is still hurting from that at this moment). He still has marks on his arms from the handcuffs.
Nicholas and the girl could see what happened to Rabbin on a TV-screen.
The officers threatened to do the same to Nicholas if he wouldn't go on the plane. Nicholas could hear Rabbin shouting and could see what happened on the TV-screen. They also told Nicholas if he refused the next time they would take him on a military plane.
They took the three of them to the plane in different cars. He screamed and said he wouldn't go, so they carried him out with 4 officers. One of them kicked him. Another one pushed his head to the ground (the one of which the chain had been broken).
They took him back to the office. He stayed handcuffed for about 30 minutes and then the doctor came and they took off the handcuffs.
Than they took him 127bis. There they put him in isolation from about 10u until about 19u. Then they took him back to the Refuge and put him isolation.
The director told him to contact his lawyer because the treatment by the officers was really bad and the director gave him the adress of the Human Rights League and advised him to write them. Rabbin wrote a letter to the Human Rights League."

Op Zaterdag 19 januari werd Nicholas Ambe, de enige getuige van de gewelddaden die Rabbin heeft ondergaan, uitgewezen naar Douala, Kameroen. Wat er sindsdien met hem gebeurd is, is een raadsel. Zijn zus uit Kameroen heeft de politie van Douala gecontacteerd en daar zeggen ze nog nooit van hem gehoord te hebben. het vak weet niet of Nicholas al dan niet aan de Kameroenese autoriteiten werd overgeleverd.
De Belgische autoriteiten kunnen duidelijk niet garanderen dat iedereen die uitgewezen wordt veilig toekomt in zijn land van herkomst.

De actievoerders ontrolden een spandoek (free rabin) en lieten duidelijk hun ongenoegen horen.
ondanks het protest is Tisaak deze morgen om 09.00u uitgewezen, wij hopen hem nog te contacteren voor meer informatie

Het VAK protesteert tegen de uitwijzing van Rabbin en tegen het gewelddadige uitwijzingsbeleid op zich. Getuigenissen over slagen en verwondingen zijn immers geen uitzondering!
