Almost 350 charges from the EU-meeting in Gothenburg withdrawn!
by Gerd P. in Gothenburg Wednesday December 19, 2001 at 11:14 PM

Were you arrested at Hvitfeldtska scool in Gothenburg in June? Call this number to find out before X-mas if your charge has been withdrawn!

The district attorney of Gothenburg, Sweden, has decided to remove most of the charges against the 379 persons arrested at the scool of Hvitfeldtska in june 16.

From Hvitfeldtska there will be 10 to 20 persons left to prosecute in the beginning of next year.
Then the district attorney is planning to prosecute 200 more persons to begin with.
The police is still studying videos from the riots and working on identifying people.

The removed charges will be sent by ordinary mail to those concerned, but as the mail doesn't work very fast these days before Christmas there is a telephone number for you to call:
+46 -31-739 41 00
Between 9:00 –15:00.

You ask for one of the seven attorneys involved:
Jonas Arvidsson or Göran Hansson or Göran Sjödell or P-O Hermansson
or Carl Bergström or Thomas Ahlstrand or Mats Ericsson.
All of them have acess to the files.

If you can't get hold of any of them, try the Archive (same number).

This information is not public, as you have not been formally charged, but
they will ask for your personal birthday and then give it to you.

My congratulations to all of you who are on the list of the removals!

And I'm so sorry for you who aren't.
I hope you can use the holidays coming to collect strength.
And remember: you are not alone –we're thinking of you all the time!

I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
