tonight, friday 14th of december, 80 students from all over europe gathered in order to launch a european network and make better pressure for next demos. Fancy joining???
The protest is over...but the party will keep on for the rest of the night. In the meantime, a bunch of 80-100 students met in Brussels to set up a transnational network. People came from Germany, France, Greek, Spain, Italy and last but not least...guess which one..Belgium (joking).
The point that what reached is a mailing list in order to discuss and write a european proposal for the European summit in Sevilla (june 2002). This proposal is aimed at giving our point of view on the Bologna project, which is a process of privatization and of competition between european universities and students. This is completely linked to the message of our ministers when they said in Lisboa a few years ago that Europe has to become the more competitive economy in the world by 2010.
Something has to be done! and therefore, this meeting of students was a small but a very interesting step forward and we invite anyone to join this initiative.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Que sigue la lucha!
Matthieu
